Hello Ian,

Will you update MID2XM anymore (you seems stopped working on it)?

Can you do a little bit changes? That is long filename support, it write 8.3 names, I have to rename the file one by one, a bit annoying.

The problem is the code was written using an old version of Borland C++, which I don't have anymore. But I may well try to find it again, and recompile MID2XM for Win32

i also have questions on midi2xm so i'll follow this 'ot' :)
too bad, midi2xm seems not to like being installed on my pc.
has this already happened or does this depend only on my
configuration? any tips?
(btw i think a win32 recompile would be nice :)
will there be further development or support of it,
maybe as some kind of plugin of your other excellent
products?

You don't have detail description, so I don't know how far you go, is that you can't get the output or you fail to start the program?

Can you tell how the install fail?
MID2XM can be use on 98/NT4/2K/XP, I've tried that many times, none fail.

Maybe you fail to produce some output, this one I can help.

Thanks for reply and sorry for not being here so long, i went
on holiday abroad to my family.

The installation fails with an unspecified "Error" just after the decompression of the textfile. Just error and abortion.
I run Win98se and have tried with MID2XM 1.4 and an earlier version too, 1.1 i think.
Could you try uploading a non compressed version of the program. i bet it would work, windows' crazyness

You'll have to convert the RMI files to standard MIDI files first.

Just curious; is there a similar tool that will convert from midi with custom sound-bank to mo3?

We're currently using Mo3 in our game, but our sound designer preferes working in MIDI

Use MID2XM to convert to XM, then you can use MO3enc to convert that to MO3.

Excellent; I was afraid I'd have to dive into the details of implementing a MO3 converter myself for this

Is the developer looking at a single tool in the future? I'm sure it'd be really usefull for propogating MO3 as a format, since most audio designers are much happier in MIDI than in some custom tracker-format.
