Downmix multi-channel

What does this actually do?  What's the matrix for 5.1 to 2.0, for example?

Sorry to bump an old post, but I was looking for how XMPlay downmixes multi-channel tracks, and am also interested in the matrix or downmix algorithm.

This was the closest thread I could find. Apologies if I should have just started a new thread.

The 5.1 to 2.0 matrix would look like this:

    L   R   C   LFE LS  RS
L = 1.0 0.0 0.7 0.7 1.0 0.0
R = 0.0 1.0 0.7 0.7 0.0 1.0

If the "Adjust level" option is enabled then the values would all be lowered to avoid/reduce clipping.
