Donate to the Support site or donate to XMPlay?

I think BASS licenses are covering things for Ian so he doesn't require donations for XMPlay, and this thread is about the XMPlay Support site.

Haha, donations could really get some stuff rolling for me! ;D But seriously: I'm pretty happy with my current job + income and I'm maintaining the site for fun and not for profit. ;) Adding a monetary dimension to a hobby is a bit difficult. I'd feel obliged to do something, even when I have no time or motivation and I'd be the subject of some bashing, should I slack off despite being "paid". I hope you understand. :)

I was really meant for XMPlay (simply it was the only sticky thread I saw around support).

I diddent notice this and XMPlay was by diffecent authors.

Elsewice kudos to both of you  ;D for both a nice support page AND the great XmPlay of course.

Ok, I've known about the existence of xmp or Extended Module Player a long time but I haven't had the need to familiarize myself with it further, mainly because of XMPlay. But as it happens, in an IRC conversation about the original Scream Tracker format, STM, and how XMPlay doesn't support it, xmp's name was dropped and I had a quick look at its website only to discover there's an xmp WinAmp plugin available.

So, if you want to add support for about 70 more or less obscure module formats to XMPlay, I recommend you get it. The reason I post about it here is I couldn't find it on the support site. That means either it isn't there, or I was blinded by the gazillion XMPlay results for the xmp search I did.

Thanks again, Arthie.

would be nice if you could change the order of the forum entries so that newest are on top.
Also ratings with rating-filter could make life easier to reduce information on what other users also find relevant (if you have a topic with more than 40 pages of entries you usually dont want to read them all). thanks

I take it you're referring to the Suggestion for 3.5-thread? I made a long list with feature requests somewhere halfway, but it's growing out of control indeed.

[edit]
Btw, Ian, I have no problem making a periodic summary of soon-to-arrive 'Suggestions for 3.6'-thread, if you're interested.

Debugging is done over here, on the forum. If you have a problem, please describe it in a new thread or in the 3.4 reports, queries and bugs-thread.

How do I translate XMPlay to italian language?
That's not possible yet, perhaps in 3.5 (the next version).

By the way, please use this thread for feedback on the Support Site only. There are separate threads for bugs and suggestions for XMPlay.

This thread is about the Support Site, not about XMPlay itself. Concerning adding plugins, I suggest you start by reading this article on the Support Site or xmplay.txt that came with XMPlay.

Hi everyone!

I totally realise that I've been absent for quite some time, but I intend to change this. Or at least, I intend to make myself obsolete by changing the Support Site. Sometime during the last year, I added Multi-Admin support to the administration panel, but it's not quite being used. Ian has a log-in, but he leaves the Support Site to me (which I'm very grateful for!), but I could use some help.

In the (hopefully near) future, I am planning on extending this multi-admin support to a general multiuser system and making most of the article and file system available to multiple admins, editors and contributors. A first step into that direction will be to get rid of the upload system that currently works with FTP only, and add a HTML upload form and more convenient editing capabilities.

In case you wonder: yes, the whole Support Site is a custom system, programmed 100% by me. This is not some kind of CMS that you can get around the corner, although that wouldn't be bad at all - it'd just take too much time to convert all database content to a new CMS. I also like the idea that I own all of my code and can fix virtually everything, because I know how things work exactly. I also know that there are security vulnerabilities which I should probably fix, but so far noone has managed (or tried?) to get inside. ;)

That's it for now. If someone of the regulars would be interested in testing the new admin interface, please let me know. Of course I will not give out accounts to people I don't know or trust.

Well, then probably do this? I can't see how this couldn't be a false positive.

Like, for example, the site has been hacked.
OR, Philippe was a victim of some malware (or DNS poisoning attack) that made him connect to an IP other than 69.164.202.98 while making him believe he was connecting to the support site..
