WAV Meta at the end of a file
« on: 11 May '22 - 21:08 »
Hi, does anyone have an idea on how to handle WAV files that have their meta at the end of the file?

I've got a WAV that has just that, and when it plays back using BASS it actually plays that split second of meta data, which as you can imagine is just white noise. It's like a very quick click.

If you load it into Adobe Audition it doesn't do this because it's somehow dealing with the fact the meta is at the end.

Is there a setting or flag when opening a BASS_StreamCreateFile that will deal with this?

Metadata shouldn't get played regardless of where it is in the file, so please upload the affected file to have a look at here:

Hey Ian, thanks for taking a look. It should be there now - it's called

Code: [Select]
Phils Truck & Auto  tm 3-1-22  to 4-30-22.wav

That file seems fine. Did you definitely upload the correct file? If so, please see if you can reproduce the problem with the pre-compiled examples in the BASS package (C\BIN folder), and also confirm what BASS version you're using with BASS_GetVersion (and try upgrading if it isn't the latest).
