Not quite sure what the problem is but in any case I've uploaded the EXE version, if you shoot me the PDF one I'll upload that as well. Smiley

I'm not familiar with the Imploder MOD packer, can you provide an example mod packer by it? Lips Sealed

Otherwise most packers can be supported by getting the appropriate plugin here: http://support.xmplay.com/files.php?id=16. The MOD Packer plugin in particular supports a fairly large variety though PowerPacker etc have their own plugins provided there as well.

4  Developments / XMPlay / Re: Sonique visualizations effect on: 2 Nov '11 - 15:59
I tried that in Sonique player, changed setting will be saved to vis.ini automatically (some lines will be added/changed to the text). So if there're any variables could be changed I can just check the file. But there're not any variables for some visualization like NeoUniverse. So I think the effect you are talking about is not a built-in feature for Sonique visualizations. If it is like this I'm curious if XMplay has blur and smoke effect for the Sonique visualizations. Can you understand what I said?
The Sonique Vis FX features of Blue/Smoke/Zoom/etc are inbuilt features of the Sonique player itself and not a part of the NeoUniverse visual.

So in short, you won't be able to turn on any these effects as the options do not exist in XMPlay or the visual.

5  Developments / XMPlay / Re: Shorten file is too short on: 26 May '11 - 12:52
Hmmm I got the 5:41 one "Skin It Back" and tried it, from what I can see its a 5:41 length song, I did notice if you have auto-loop turned on it will loop so perhaps your seeing that? Tongue

Extracted via the actual shorten command line encoder produces a 5:41 length WAV file (shorten -x lf1975-10-18t01.shn).

After more testing I found, if the shn file has no seek table (as these do) the plugin itself will loop and play the shn file again, once you add the seek table using "shorten -k lf1975-10-18t01.shn" XMPlay with play and the plugin won't incorrectly loop the track. Removing the seek table again using "shorten -e lf1975-10-18t01.shn" makes the problem reoccur.

It turns out the support site version never had the latest version of the plugin which is 2.04, the newer versions had notes related to fixing seek errors in the plugin which might be associated with the problem your having. I put the new version up at http://support.xmplay.com/files_view.php?file_id=41 if you'd like to give it a shot. Smiley

Edit: Unfortunately I don't have any SHN files so I couldn't test it first.

It's been a long time since we did one of these but its a special year being the 10th year anniversary of the Un4seen Developments forum!

From version 1.0 in 1999, XMPlay 3.6 has come a long long way, evolving far beyond what any of us could of imagined at the time. Including myself who disliked skinning and plugins back then has been swayed by the XMPlay way of doing things, not to mention was inspired to tried my hand at creating some myself. And for all that thanks go to Ian for continuing to support and improve XMPlay & BASS after all this time, thanks also go to the community as always as one of the friendliest supportive software forums I've ever been a part of.

So here's for the last 10 years Un4seen Developments, looking forward to another 10 more.

Oh false positives from the various silly AV and things are fairly common unfortunately, just need to roll with it.

It wasn't that long ago that a skin was being picked up as a deathly virus of doom so I'm finding it difficult to take any of their warnings seriously anymore. Tongue

I did kinda consider adding it to the site in the past, the reason I didn't was generally your random Joe downloading and trying it when confronted with a bug/issue will not report it or in general won't be a happy camper. Those who know where to get the stuff versions are either forum participants or at least people prepared to read a bit to work things out, makes feedback on issues far more likely this way.

Then there's the need to frequently update it as well Tongue either way I think those are sensible enough reasons. Grin

You can get a version packed for XMPlay here Moriez, APE (Monkey's Audio) v3.99. It's the latest version of the Winamp plugin available.

However, the APE format in general is known for its slow seeking, its a problem with the format itself and gets worse the higher the compression used. It's likely thats what you are experiencing.

13  Developments / XMPlay / Re: New Skin Preview! "Clarity" on: 3 Mar '11 - 01:32
You can change that by editing the mask_main.bmp, the part you want to change is the brown mask top right like in the image below.

Remember to move the pixels up top as well. The total time display by itself isn't a normal skinning feature in XMPlay, so it was put in using a trick to hide the other elements. Unfortunately it means that making it wider for 10+ minute times will push it out of alignment when its less than 10 minutes or will cut off again if more than 60.

It'll probably added as a real skinning feature at some point there's no perfect solution for it right now, if you want you could just remove the brown mask entirely and save yourself the hassle. Tongue

I'm afraid I've run out of steam on this one, its more or less complete but the output options window is incomplete. The zip below includes the PSD's and other resources, if anyone wants to do a bit of spit 'n polish and release it by all means. Grin

Also wondering do the following plugins serve any purpose anymore now there are native plugins for the same purpose:

WinampAC3 0.60b
- replaced by native AC3 (Audio Coding Revision 3)

Nullsoft MIDI
- replaced by native MIDI (revision 10)

Tara 1.0.3b
- replaced by native Real Audio (beta 10)

TFMX Modules
- replaced by native Delix (beta 8c)

WinAHX 1.0
- replaced by native AHX/HVL (rev 16)

FAAD (AAC Decoder) 2.1 Beta
- replaced by native AAC/MP4

All of these plugins will be being removed from the support site in a few days otherwise.

Already gone from the new site.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The following I am unsure are still required for certain formats, if anyone can confirm they are also no longer required that would be much appreciated.

Waveform Decoder
+ .aif, .aifc, .aiff, .au, .aud, .iff, .snd, .svx, .voc, .vox

Modplug Sound System
+ .stm

Oldsk00l MOD Player 0.89 (Replaced by Delix??)
+ .dbm, .ok, .okt

MikAmp
+ .669, .stm, .ult

Leaving these two due to various reasons besides format support.

If there are also ones not listed here that I should add to the list to remove please let me know, especially the tag editing plugins *looks at them puzzled* are they still all required?

G-Force v2.2 works well in XMPlay 3.6 and in recent stuff versions. Smiley

Think in the latest stuff version Ian has it fixed for the 4.7/2.7.1 of the two visuals, just making sure it doesn't break something else. Smiley Found 4 more sneaky visuals too... possibly more if I can figure them out.

Can anyone get to Fraggie's site? or is it down at the moment? All better. Smiley

You listed G-Force as version 4.7.1, but it's actually 2.7.1.. The most recent (and shareware) version of G-Force is 4.1.3, and it should work with xmp-wavis. Soundspectrum used to make an .svp version as well, but XMPlay is no longer listed as a compatible player, so I guess they stopped doing that.
Ah typo Smiley

And yes these are around the last svp versions of both plugins that were released, might be a couple behind but not too bad. I have tried xmp-wavis out as I had planned to add it to the site as well but I'm having some heavy stability problems so far.

Well guys with G-Force and Whitecap being added along side the ultra rare Arvi's Waveform (With source!) and the brand new xmp-coverart we now have 106 107 111! sonique visuals collected. Not just the largest collection of them in the world by far, but likely the only real collection left as well.

I doubt any more old visuals will be found as Sonique's presence around the web is rapidly declining, any visuals which I may have missed have long since been deleted. Even the current G-Force and Whitecaps I uploaded were from a backup of the Support Site in 2004(!).

On the brightside that just means its all new ones from here on in right? Grin

P.s. I've uploaded G-Force and Whitecap even though they don't currently work in 3.6, they do work in various other versions of XMPlay so its probably something fiddly. Stay up to date with your stuff versions and I imagine it'll work itself out soon enough. Works in the latest stuff version, be sure to update before trying.

Great!  Glad it was a simple fix...
Yep, just a little typo.

And... Embarrassed can't believe I just got baffled by a cached page, think I need some more coffee.

The WAClassic's and sources are up on the support site as well for anyone that wanted to hack 'em. On a side note they provide an excellent template for anyone wanted to convert over any classic Winamp skins, feel free to ask for a hand if needed.
