You all can shove it up... my comp is still a celeron300A (now on 300, sadly enough), with 384MiB RAM and an intel740+voodoo1 combo.

Who's got a crappier machine? Tongue

All Windowses freak out from having two or more AOT windows.  WinXP is less freaky about it, but both 2k and 98 were horrible in this sense.  I do wonder how Microsoft never ended up fixing such an easy to reproduce window manager bug, in about what now, 8 years...

I didn't mean to offend you, Fraggie...

I just tried to make a clear version of it, to make sure people really understand it the way you wanted them to.  I mean, if I understood it so, anyway.

Sorry... :-/

"The options and stuff window should remember the last active tab and activate it when you next open it."

2. If double clicking on the tray icon restores XMPlay, why not make double click minimize it back? (Very convenient IMO.)

3. New hotkeys for amplification +/-. (I just love hotkeys.)

Agreed on Nr. 2, but with 3: hasn't / and * been amp and +/- been volume for a while?

On that...  it seems that when I add something to the playlist, unless I scroll it around manually, hover it, etc. it won't update in 2.8.x

Yea! SID 6581!! I wanna I wanna I wanna! Grin Grin Grin

Well, silly Ghisler hasn't even heard about XMPlay -- not even the old one --, just that icky WinAmp... so what do we expect Wink

Ian, any kind of reaction for the Speed/Tempo display?
About the Add to list button... I kinda liked the old way of working, someone liking autoplay of tracks doesn't necessarily want to clear his/her list on any newly added file. I also don't feel like right clicking to delete duplicates, there should be an option for automation of this event (just as for the verification of the files).

As for the playlist views... umm, mind initialising them in a way so that the selected song is shown? For example, my 138th song on the list is selected when XMPlay starts, because it was the last one played, and still, both playlists will initialise to 1st row. Could XMPlay also remember whether the info window had been open before exiting and which view had been active in it?

That's all for now I think.

Well, a small addition here. In Mini mode, there is a bright line right below the counter. how about colouring it according to the position in the song so we can see how long a song is actually?
And please do something about the window, I can't see whether it is active or not... Like, recolour the XMPlay and title texts and the minimize/exit buttons... or something Wink

Mentioned this to Christian too? He might as well implement audio plugin support to 4.55 or something. support@ghisler.com

Well, nice from you to take it Smiley I think we need a play-and-pause button, some information displayed with a scrollbar, and switch between types of info... or something like that.
And a seeking bar we need too.

Thanks ^_^

hehehe, Ian, you just reached 100h posts Grin

Btw, I looked how XMPlay adds the files to the playlist when I drag'n'drop directories. New file is inserted BEFORE the last added file, therefore it gives a reversed list.

Other thing that just popped into my mind: How about XM files to default to XM panning separation? (unless they have their own settings saved)
And is there a way to determine whether a MOD was made in FT][ or in another tracker? Or XM-Mod-ness could also be stored with the other output settings of the particular mod...

Yea, I now encountered the pain-in-the-arse effect of this small-but-nice-looking playlist.

And I still miss the Fade Grin

On the other hand, I think I have an idea. How about support of dragon droppings, but backwards? Yea, put the shBEEPt back into the dragon... I mean, could we drag a song in the playlist and for example drop it on ICQ or other program that supports drag-and-dropping files?

Current Speed/Tempo display? somehow? Idea: to the left from the Time display.

ANYONE PROGRAMMER: Checked out ghisler.com yet? I think there is a tutorial of making plugins there. Would be nice to replace Windows Commander's internal player Tongue

I think that's all for today Grin

Oh, I found something. Could XMPlay remember the last used vis plugin?

Nice idea... I see the point in it i think... maybe the whole thing could be en- and disabled with an option in the setup, whether you do or don't want the "advanced mode"
in simple mode (default) there would be no library button and only normal playlist would present (the whole thing would look just as it looks at the moment). In Advanced mode, things would work like how Keltic described.
