1  Developments / XMPlay / playlist builder? on: 19 Jan '04 - 23:05
So I've decided to copy all of my CD music to MP3s and store it on a couple of MP3 CDs. Of course I'm going to use XMplay fo my music, but does anyone know of a good playlist builder? I'm talking about something that can cross-reference by genre, artist, title, and/or things like the type of mood the music is.
If anyone knows about anything like that, help would be appreciated.
Thanks-_-~

XMplay shows tracks with a red line though them when they are dead links. I've got a CD full of non-english mods that has always played fine.

Well, KD DOES have a point.... but if he's a tracker, Modplug is a nice tool to have around. It's great for remixing midis to XM-type files (and adding new instruments is fun, too.) But whatever floats yer boat, ya know?

4  Developments / XMPlay / Re: XMplay visualizations??? on: 4 Apr '02 - 15:59
I've tried using the sonique plugins, but I haven't been able to get them to register on XMplay's visualization window. The other ones I have installed are in a different format than the sonique one I tried downloading. Then again, I'm not running the most current version of XMplay (2.0, I think) and I  tried to get it to work last night when I was REALLY tired... maybe I need some sort of plugin that I just overlooked?

The coolest feature of XM1 was the ability to change the colours of the player. I like the new visuals, but the older version is still better by far for using playlists and tweeking the settings. I'll stick with the old one for parties and such. Maybe the final version of XM1 should still be online for download??? Skins for XM2 would also be nice, but we've all heard that before, eh? Maybe just having the ability to change the colours w/out making a new skin...?

10  Developments / XMPlay / hey, who locked the smilie poll?? on: 11 Apr '02 - 04:52
I'm sorry, did I miss something? Does a poll about smilies break some forum rule? Does it offend anybody? Sorry if I did. I'd like to request an unlocking of the poll, if that's okay...
-_-~
Also, on an unrelated note, I cannot see the picture in my signature and profile. Is that just my connection, or is there something I need to do in order to make that work?

shlife, if you have a good connection go to http://www.digitallyimported.com for streaming trance, hardtrance, hardhouse, and eurodance music. They also have classical, too. But who cares about that, right? (Actually, it's not half bad...)

On the playlist bar (the one on the right side) at the bottom left there is a button that looks like a square with a slash. Right-click it to see shuffle, sort by title, sort by filename, reverse, and random play order. You can aslo get playlist controls by right-clicking on the icon when the player is minimized to the program menu (by right-clicking on the minimize button)
Check out the 'ape file' thread for more info on ape support.

oh, I almost forgot--
would there be any way to make song titles scroll at the top of the player? long names are hard to see.

-_-~

ps-I still say there should be a 'skinless' mode available, like in XM1. somethin' about that was just cool to me.

Okay, I agree with no vulgarity, but we still need to offer constructive criticism, right? I suggest using the following 'breath mints for foul mouthes.' (NOTE: '-ish' can be added as a suffix to any of these)
1.Poo
2.Stinky (or stinks, or stink)
3.Ickhy
4.Clammy
5.Gremlin
6.Damp
7.Dank
8.Doink
9.Dill- (add any noun, like -weed or -wipe)
10.Daft
11.Chiminea
12.Hagendas
13.Italian Monk (can also be used as a compliment, in a pinch)
14.Boozed-up
15.chumpy
16.ripped (also can be nice)

Hate to have to quote myself, but there SHOULD be an evil grin smiley... Who's in charge of that anyway??
How about a vote? What kind of smilies should be in the forum?

Here are the smilies that are already here:

Sorry Vesh, that sounds painful.

Anyway, the 'un-notify' thing worked; thanx Ian.

18  Developments / XMPlay / Re: no 80's & make it stop? on: 9 May '02 - 23:49
Hey Oleg, I never said anything was wrong with communism OR the metric system. I just said they were trying to take over the world Grin
And I'm pretty sure the metric system is only *slightly* evil. The US tried to convert to it a while back and ended up with daylight savings time. :-/ Go figure.
So commies aren't really trying to take over anything (well, maybe Idaho, but that's a different story all together), but it's one of my theories. I also think Canada has 90% of the world's nuclear weapons (does anyone REALLY know what happened to the bombs after the cold war???), but that doesn't matter. What matters is whether Splinter can defeat John Glen before Lenord Nemoy gets control of the naval bases in Hawaii (it's a long story; I also need more sleep).
Here's another interesting fact: XMPLAY spelled backwards is
"YALPMX" which kinda sounds like a person with no lips (looks kinda like this--> Shocked or this-->  Lips Sealed ) saying 'Malcom-X.' What does all this mean? And what does it have to do with the missing numbers?? More coming soon, if 'THEY' don't get to me first...

Oh, I almost forgot... is there any way to get the 'notify of replies' emails to stop coming? My mailbox is getting pretty full...

2, 5, 8, 11, 13, 16, 19, 22, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36, 38, 41, 44, 47, 49, 52, 55, 58, 61, 63, 66, 69, 72, 74, 77, 80, 83, 86, 88, 91, 94, 97, 99
Above is a list of all the missing numbers. From 0 to 100, it skips the second, third, third, third, second, third, third, third, and so on. What does this mean? That XMplay is saving space by taking out some numbers? Or something much more sinister!?
My theory: It has something to do with the Metric System being taken over by Communists. I'm still not sure who their leader is, but it's either Leonard Nemoy or Splinter from the Ninja Turtles.

It may just be me, but I can't seem to get the volume to set at 80. It just skips from 79 to 81 Huh Maybe it's just me, or maybe Ian's got somethin' against the 80's... Conspiracy? Methinks... maybe..! Wink Wink
