Good suggestion from raina. Right now it's a mere notification. I have no idea where to look for for example WASAPI rev.3d.

I don't think it would be a good idea for it to be possible to have XMPlay in neither the taskbar or tray (it could get lost under other stuff), but here's an update that has the option of having it in both...

   www.un4seen.com/stuff/xmplay.exe

When in both, XMPlay will minimize to the tray.
There seems to be a bug with latest stuff. When minimised in tray (just in tray), Volume up/down via mouse scroll does not work at all.
OS is Win7 x64.

I've just found a bug in latest stuff, 3.7.0.10. When scrolling up/down over tray icon, volume changes but tray title bubble Volume info changes just on first scroll.
Works normanlly on my business desktop PC, so obviously latest stuff is ok.  Huh

11  Developments / XMPlay / Re: Visuals - Cover Art high CPU usage on: 13 Jan '13 - 22:03
Is it actually XMPlay using the CPU? Does it stay that high even if you keep the visual open for over a minute? On the Appearance page of Options and stuff, did you restrict the rendering resolution? And what Vis refresh rate did you put in?
Yes, it is xmplay.exe.
But, you were right, Vertical Sync was checked. Smiley I've unchecked it and now it is ok. On my second PC it was already unchecked.
My vis refresh rate is 60.

Speaking of these settings, what is vis refresh rate used for? And Vertical sync?

Thanks, Dotpitch.  Wink

Just tried Spectrum and Spectrum 3D, CPU usage is high, also.  Huh
CPU on that machine is AMD E350 dual core, if that matters.

13  Developments / XMPlay / Visuals - Cover Art high CPU usage on: 13 Jan '13 - 16:13
Hi.
Latest stuff version, latest cover art plugin, there is high CPU usage when Visuals is opened, about 50% CPU. I've tried several skins, it's the same. When I switch to File Info or Messages it is ok (few %).
Also, it doesn't matter whether there is image or not (No Album Cover), usage is high.

But most interesting thing is that usage is high on my PC with XP SP3, but on my other PC with Win7 x64 it is not.  Huh

Any thoughts?

Sad

I'm having "problems" with most XMPlay skins since I moved to 23" LCD screen with 1920x1080 resolution. Almost all skins are too small (except Neutron large) when I move more then 1m away from screen.

Robert,
I've just compared your skin with Netron medium and noticed few things. In main window playlist fonts are bigger in Neutron medium. But bigger difference is in Info bubbles. In Neutron medium thay are quite larger then in your skin.  Undecided

Robert,
are you planning to make large version of this skin since this is medium?

Download it again from the original link, random and loop should show in main window now.
Thank you very much. Smiley
This is now my default skin.  Cool

Robert,
can you add random and loop list buttons to the main windows playlist version of the skin? Smiley

Let me explain how I noticed this "bug".

I had XMplay running with some skin that has extended playlist. Than I've changed skin to Neutron minimalistic, and extended playlist was still there, I could change tracks etc. Once I've changed to Message/Visual, playlist button dissapeared.

I like main window playlist + Visual, because I can have playlist and cover art at the same time. I've always used skins with main window playlist because of this.

If there is no main window playlist I can't use playlist and Visual at the same time.

Besides that I do agree that extended playlist is better.

What about Loop list and Random play order buttons?

That's way I posted screenshot yesterday with main window playlist and track time. Smiley

There seems to be a bug in latest version. When I change skin to this version I have a Playlist button in Extended window, but when I click to File Info/Message/Visuals it dissapears.  Huh

In Add Visual Tab there is info_head_list.bmp with Playlist, Loop list and Random Play Order buttons.

Maybe you should retain Playlist, Loop list and Random Play Order buttons? Or maybe even better, put Loop list and Random Play Order buttons in main window?

robert,
are there plans for bringing back main window playlist? Or at least some alternative version with main window playlist?
