1  Developments / XMPlay / Re: mp3 burned on cd won't open with xmplay on: 20 Jun '08 - 16:15
When you say it won't open in XMPlay, do you mean XMPlay isn't automatically started when you insert the disc,

Xmplay will not open automatically when the cd is inserted. I'm using windows Vista. I have xmplay set as the default for audio and data cds.

If I am only using xmplay for listening to internet radio and playing cd's, is there any reason for me to use the Bass plug in?

to see if you have multiple "installations".

Yes Ian! This was the case. Dotpitch did understand what I was saying. I had unzipped the wrong exe.

Jace, you are correct. The other '19' files would only show up in the library when I was on the Shoutcast website, trying to add another stream.

Thank you all for the help!!!

Okay, this is odd. I find a shoutcast stream, hit add to library. Everything is fine.  I leave shoutcast. When I bring up xmplay, from the desktop, or another site other than shoutcast the library is empty! None of the saevd streams are there. Until I go back to shoutcast and add another stream, then all the old saved streams show up in the library. i'm perplexed. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!
Thanks,

Try to drag-n-drop those link to XMPlay. Every station works OK here.

Auren, can you please try to play Kerrang, at    http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/
with xmplay. Also could you explain drag and drop?  I have tried to add this      http://earth.radica.com/kerrang-70            to the library and it does not work.

Thank you for your help Auren!

Ian, any chance for a ASF-ASX plug in? Or will it not work because these are also video files?

Ian
There's a strange bug. XMPlay freezes if you're playing this stream in XMPlay: http://mediasrv-sov.musicradio.com/Mercury966FM and then try to "delete" it from the list. Also, player freezes if you just try to stop the stream.
They all work? Hmm, This is one of the stations I had trouble with. Now it just opens WMP. (and sounds bad, I really dislike WMP). Never had the freeze problem though. Odd.

How are you opening the WMA streams or files? Are you (double-)clicking? If so, maybe it's a file association issue - check if "WMA" is selected in the "Integration" options page. Also, to confirm whether that is the issue, you could try drag'n'dropping the WMA files/links to XMPlay instead.

I just click on the 'tune in' button. Yes, all the files in the integration are selected. I think some of the files i'm trying to play are ASF, ASX.  Dotpitch had a work around when this problem happend with Kerrang, and the Xfm stations, which can be found here:    http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/      a few months ago. Those work arounds no longer work. I have decided to split the duties between WMP, which is no XMplay, and XMplay. This is the best media player I've used. I'm not technical and this is great for me! Thank you!!!!

Yes, I have wmfdist.exe installed. what I don't understand is how one day xmplay plays WMA files then the next day it won't. This was after a re download. Now it only plays select WMA  files from streaming radio?  ODD!
Again Dotpitch, I apprecaite your comments, but the notepad work around is something I can't figure out. I'm not very technical.
Thanks for everyone's help!!!

thanks Dotpitch! Here's what happend. I was using xmplay one minute, it was gone the next. I don't know what happend. I re-downloaded it xmplay (this morning). I used to be able to just click on almost any format including WMA and it would open in xmplay.
What has changed that now I have to open the files in notepad and won't just open?

Thank you

Hi. I also  wanted to mention that the websites are examples. Any internet radio station that streams in WMA I can't get to work in xmplay. I also have all the formats highlighted in the integration section of options and stuff.

Thanks!

Hi. I can not get WMA files to play in xmplay. Here are some websites with internet radio stations that stream in WMA.

http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/     If you scoll down a little you will see the list of stations.

And

http://www.listenlive.eu/france.html   Some of the stations stream in WMA. if you look you will see the WMA icon.
Most times nothing happens, and sometimes Windows media player opens. Thanks for any help you can offer.  Oh, I am not very technical so please be gentle in your reply
THANKS!

Still didn't work. It would open in xmplay and I would get the red lines. I copied and pasted  http://earth.radica.com/kerrang-70  into a the address bar and it opened in WMP.Which a lot of ASX/ASf files seem to open WMP, instead of xmplay. As far as I know xmplay is my default.I couldn't get it to open in xmplay. Do I have to manually insert the link somewhere in xmplay?  If so how? I am not very technical, so please be gentle...lol
I sincerely appreciate your help.

Hi, I'm new to forums, but have been using xmplay for about year. It's great player.
The problem I'm having is playing some ASX files; such as kerrang, and the xfm radio stations from this site. I'm using  xmplay 3.4.2.1

http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/

If you scroll down to the WMP page (the stations are alphabetized) You will see Kerrang, and further down are the xfm stations.

Thanks for your help!
