1  Developments / XMPlay / Re: Suggestions for 3.7 on: 8 Dec '11 - 18:52
It's a good looking skin for sure, and I hope someone could make a version of it for XMPlay, but skins ported from other players aren't ideal for default skin. They are also forbidden in the competition rules you linked to.
Well, it doesn't have to be ported. Something similar would be nice.

Replace the default skin.

Alternative default skin submissions are welcome Smiley

Oh wow!
You're onto it. Great!

The AngelAG skins such as the ALFA Evolution would be nice.  Wink

Maybe AngelAG wouldn't mind someone porting this.  Wink

Could someone please tell me how to set up Oggenc 2.87.
I have put oggenc2.exe in the XMPlay folder. I used to have the older oggenc.exe in the XMPlay folder, but I have deleted that now.

Will XMPlay automatically find oggenc2.exe? What command line do I need to use?

Thanks...

PS: oggenc2.exe is a big file at 3.20 MB.

5  Developments / XMPlay / Re: XMPlay RealAudio plugin on: 26 Nov '11 - 02:41
Thanks for this.
I created a "Codecs" folder below the XMPlay folder, and put all the codec files (including pncrt.dll) there and pointed the plugin to that folder.
But it couldn't find pncrt.dll there, so I moved pncrt.dll to the XMPlay folder.

I thought that putting it somewhere in the path was good enough, but it seems not.

Replace the default skin.

Sorry, but I hate it, and I think it gives a bad first impression to anyone discovering XMPlay for the first time.
Maybe it is only me who just doesn't have the love for the default skin.

I don't mean to offend. It is just my opinion.  Wink

I haven't tested 0.9.6, and the link is dead for 0.9.8.

Can someone please tell me how I get this to work?
I just downloaded xmp-scrobbler.dll from this site.

This is the message I keep getting in my log file.
Quote
No valid MusicBrainz ID found, consider using MusicBrainz taggers to tag this file properly.
The current track is "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC.

I also have the official Last.fm app installed.

Thanks.

Edit: I found an old xmp-scrobbler.dll, and it works. It is 1.50 MB.
Version 0.9.7pre that I downloaded today from this site is 589 KB.

11  Developments / XMPlay / Playback Stops on: 25 Nov '11 - 08:05
Sometimes when I am playing an album, playback will stop at the end of a track and not progress to the next track unless I start the track myself.

I am currently using XMPlay v3.6.0.44.  Smiley

Is there no standard Playlist? Only an Extended one?
Yes, there is only extended playlist with this skin. I would like to preserve the original behavior when porting. XMPlay has no button "Random play order" on the main panel, it is on the panel playlist, so playlist combined with the main panel and hidden  Grin
But I still like it.  Wink

BTW. Where is it ported from?

15  Developments / XMPlay / Automatic Playlist Trimmer on: 23 Nov '11 - 20:16
Some players that I have used give the user the option to have the player automatically remove the track from the Playlist after it has been played.

I really like this feature as I can keep adding more tracks from time to time, but the Playlist trims itself after the tracks have been played. The "Now Playing" track will always be at the top of the Playlist.

It is possible to add this feature?

Hello to all skin devs. Tongue

I've tried all XMPlay skins, but I just can't find the perfect one. The ones I like the most are (in no particular order):
  • Acidian Fire
  • Flatline
  • B-Red
  • Heavy duty
  • Risky
  • Pager
  • TeKnoid
  • (and maybe a few others)
I am impressed with TeKnoid.  Wink

Regarding AlbumArtSmall. I cannot find that anywhere.
Have you switched on 'Show hidden files' in Explorer?
Yes. I always have that on.

It's probably embedded in the file itself.
Use a tagging tool like http://mp3tag.de to edit or remove them.
I completely removed the tag using mp3tag, then retagged.

And it is still there.

I do have some covers in a sub folder, but they are not small (they are large), and never caused a problem previously.

Regarding AlbumArtSmall. I cannot find that anywhere.
