ho thanks i was passing by un4seen... sorry i'm late guys. and i really apreciatte you post your messages here about my job.

yeah i know its a font pretty hard to see in resolutions higher than 800x600 (thats what i'm using in my k62!)
i cant post files here so i'll send th sources to keltic at xmplay support page to post them.
i used fonty to make those font so you can easyly edit them whith that program too.

by the way i remember i made the extended lybrary window to be used as "docked" to the main window right at the bottom-center of it.
but Ian said something like it would be mess when the ext window is AUTO-rezized.

and about that i think to solve the problem, is that when "docking" option is enabled "auto-rezise" cant be enabled.
or a locked position entry in the SKINCONFIG. so the window can't be moved or side rezising when docked.
what you gus think?
(stay tune to xmplay support page, skins section for the sources)

I did think about it, but there are complications to consider. For example, when the info window is docked on it's right or bottom edge, and is resized (eg. due to auto-resize) - what happens then? Whatever happens is sure to be a bit annoying Smiley

mmmmm that surely would be....
let me think i have the info window docked to the bottom right edge of the main windws 8main+geq and list panels)
and the auto rezise info window option is enabled.
First i imagine that the info window would be wider/longer than before and would be undocked.
but i think the best woud be that info window auto rezise option would be automatically disabled when the Window docking mode is activated.
Let's say that the auto rezise info window function button in DEACTIVATED position, will enable WINDOW DOCKING MODE.
So in skins we can set the auto rezize backgrouns to a button that says "DOCKING" and the button switch bmp of that funtion to say "AUTO REZISE"

Anybody agrees/desagrees?

than you guys
ok i just cheked out SNAPPING and its excellent and usefull. now i think more usefull would be dockking between the info and main windows.

Did Ian forget to send out the email this time around? I didn't even know .0.5 was out! Huh

just get in xmplay page, and in the up-right corner of the screen there's always indicated the version. (http://www.un4seen.com/xmplay.html )

maybe he just want to acces the nedia lybrary faster by using another panel that he pull down.
in that case, yeah that would be usefull, especially if any panel could be used as vertical, i preffer taller skins, than wider.
always liked the look of the main windows up, aand a pretty large playlist down. tthink if it could be pulled down like other panels......

actually i was making this skin, and when you guys see it you'll see that if the playlist could be pulled down from the bottom of the main panel would be better.

by the way i am trying to control xmplay using buttons/controls from the BBLEAN (blackbox) shell.
it has a plugin called bbinterface that can add buttons/labels, etc and make you abel to create kickass panels on your desktop.
there are ways to control other player(winamp, foobar) but havent found any to control my fave XMPLAY
check this shot from blackbox using bbinterface plugin:

see the small box in the bottom right corner? see those controls? well they are supposed to control a player like foobar or winamp, but i think xmplay is better.
thanks

ic...but the thing is...i tried replacing the images...for example the play button..i reaplaced it with my play button..also the alpha channel thingy...i tried moving the colors..still...no luck Sad

btw...the readme file thing...is....kinda...complicated...so yea
all the images are connected to the mask files, there are mask files for the main panel, output panel, main playlist panel, and info playlist window's header.
ya got to edit those mask so they can fit each button/function.
if your play button is 20x20px zise, in the mask file  the correspodient color for the play button should be the same zise.
maybe keltic ar someone else can help you better than me

and you know what? you can make a great use of that database, if file artist/album, etc gonna be saved into a file, we culd modify any of that fields, and the info instead of xmplay modifiyng the mp3 id3 tag, could be saved to the database file. (no need to implement id3 edition)
so i guess the list should read id3 tags (if present) for first time addition, then just load a fast database as you said.
And what if the database is lost/corrupted? Support for ID3/OGG editing is still required, in order to update the tags in the files (otherwise you get inconsistencies).

maybe backing up your database file would solve that.
and ID3 edition  "IS ALLREADY IMPLEMENTED", i use the winamp in_mp3.dll for that, and works great.
we all know xmplay reads tags perfectly, so if you modify any file id3 tag, a right click in the updated file, and a menu option for updating tag info would work. or select the updated file, and press F5 for refreshing its info from Id3 tag is also a nice thing. Huh

Please clarify what you mean by "with additional colomns etc".

Maybe "type", "number of songs", "estimated time of all songs in playlist", etc.

But actually, as to me, I don't need any. -))
you dont need them, why do you ask for them?Huh?

total/curent song number and total playlist time is shown as usual, check the top of the pic.

I didn't ask. Xmplay is perfect! You are asking... )))

I just made a suggetion for playlists that could help to keep xmplay minimum size.
I am against overloading xmplay for doubtable exrtra features.

c'mon !! you asked for those extra needless columns...
and i dont think this "overloads" xmplay, is something useless and maybe could be optional for people like you who wants simple boring stuff.
and remember: i am with you for keeping xmplay as fastest as it can go!!!

PEACE|||

It looks a nice idea, but it wouldn't be feasible (too slow) to rescan the tags from all the files everytime you opened that window. For the idea to work, the info would have to be retrieved once and stored in some database instead. Depending on how that's managed, and the user's habits, it could get pretty large with redundant entries. But I think the main problem would be that it'd only work properly for the built-in formats, as it's not possible to retrieve tags from Winamp plugins. Anyway, I'll look into it for 3.2 Smiley

so i guess the list should read id3 tags (if present) for first time addition, then just load a fast database as you said.

if id3 is not present, the could be retrieved from filename format and path.
example: d:\music\rock\green day\dookie\01-she.mp3
so here we got genre, artist, album, track number and title info.
and i this should be created by the user depending of each one paths, for this example:
D:\Music\%genre%\%artist%\%album%\%track number% - %title%
