Regarding having an option in XMPlay to always start in the tray, if there is demand for this, an XMPLAY.INI option could be added.

Well yes, if it's easy for you I rather have it that way too.

Pure excellence Grin Works! On Win7 64-bit there's a tiny but important difference in the location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{87727083-2264-4d5c-AB39-2223CFB6851F}\LocalServer32

Did I mention pure excellence? Thank you!

What I would like is to have XMPlay start in tray. I mean not visible except for the tray icon. The -tray parameter does not work as I strictly use the right-click context menu to play music (Open with XMPlay). Either I am doing it in the wrong way(?) or it's my suggestion to implement this. Thanks.

I can see how messing around with this stuff could be fun for you, but it's of no use to anyone else, so please don't post it here.

PSXGamerPro1, read the above quote again. And again. And again.

Try to respect Ian's wishes and try realizing that there's no real interest in what you are offering here.
If there's features you would like to see then simply suggest them like anyone else is doing. If that's not enough keep the modifications to yourself. Take some time and let it get through to you bro. C'mon!

Thanks garson.

Yep, the plugin updates are located in the "stuff" directory on the server, alongside the XMPlay updates. So if you're familiar with the XMPlay "stuff" updates (as you would have to be to have enabled the "stuff" notifications Smiley), you can simply replace the "xmplay.exe" in the URL with the plugin's filename.

Good to know. But still, it would be much more convenient to check for updates in XMPLAY, have them displayed and get them with a click. Do-able?

Good suggestion from raina. Right now it's a mere notification. I have no idea where to look for for example WASAPI rev.3d.

Here's an XMPlay update that includes the option of receiving notification of new "stuff" versions...

   www.un4seen.com/stuff/xmplay.exe

To enable the notifications, add an "UpdateStuff=1" line to your XMPLAY.INI file.

Niiice!

Does a fine job at what it's intented for so thanks for that.

Maybe not totally fair for you but I would like to make the suggestion to just implement this stuff updater in XMPLAY.
The 'check for updates' is quite useless as it is right now. Looking ahead, maybe an undo function to be able to revert to the previous version in case something's broken.

I haven't but thanks for the tip. Sticking to WASAPI for now Wink

Ah ok.

I tried Foobar with ASIO output and indeed the same problem.
Edit: to hell with ASIO. I'll just use WASAPI or even DS.

Thanks guys.

My findings:

Does increasing the buffer size in the "Output" options page help?

No.

Quote
Also, do you have the "Always use preferred driver buffer size" option enabled in the ASIO options page, and does toggling that help?

Have it ticked and toggling does not help.

To see if it may be something specific to the ASIO driver, is ASIO output from other software affected by the CPU intensive stuff too?

I tried ASIO4ALL (default settings) and there's no problem with that.

Cheers, will do some testing with this stuff.

Not the same issue for me but still ASIO related. Lately I noticed some weird slow downs/distorted sound when CPU is under load.
For example during CPU intensive tests in Windows Experience Indexing. Don't get this with Directsound output.
Tried 3.7 and 3.7.0.18 and ASIO rev6/rev7. I am too on Win7 SP1 (64-bit). What could it be?

Just to let people know that after installing Win7 64bit the 1.0.0.0 tool is without problems. Don't let my previous posts put you off in trying this super easy tool!

@Eugenii, I am not familiar with Google Docs. Must I get all the files for 1.0.0.1 to work or just the .exe?

I really don't know what caused it. Random folders were affected. Some still ok, others not so can't put a finger on it (anymore). Let's consider it a once off. I probably messed up myself somehow if no one else is having 'complaints' Smiley

For 99% sure I removed: it m4b mo3 mp1 mp2 mp4 mtm oga s3m umx wax
and added: tfx hip fc3 fc4 sid1 cus okt ma dm2 fred bp

I also remember that I once applied 'use the default icons for all types' before the problem and 'revert defaults' after the problem.
Don't want to try this again but let me know when I can be of help.

Excellent! I gave up on the manual configuring of extensions a long time ago but this finally gets it done.

Really really nice work Eugenii  Grin

Edit: however, it seems to have randomly changed some Windows folder icons which I cannot change back manually.
I'm on Win7 32-bit. Anyone else noticed this behavior?

Update: after putting image back and re-applying xmplay_ext there's no problems. Only thing I didn't do this time is add and remove certain extensions.

I generally like there to be at least one big new feature in each new version, but there haven't really been any big additions since 3.6, so I've been holding off the 3.7 release, waiting for inspiration to strike Smiley ... But I guess there does come a point where the small additions/tweaks/fixes add up to warrant a version bump.

If that moment ever comes a good time would be when there's at least one new skin to be included.

Happen to use the blue variation at the moment. One of the better skins available. How's it going with the skinning competition anyway? XMPlay could really do with some updates in that area.
