Just a quick note to say the WAModern skin has been updated, but I'd check it first before replacing the old just in case you don't like it.

(And it looks like noone's found clyde. )

Any chance of producing one or two colour variations of the WAModern skin, please? As you know, the original Winamp version has a colour theme selector. Olive green as an alternative to blue would go down well on my desktop. Many thanks.

Should'nt be too hard... I  think. Long as noone asks for MMD3 colour scheme's they're lots harder.

Also, I'm not really happy with any of the existing Winamp colour themes, although the one called Clover comes closest to what I'm looking for. Essentially I'd like the areas of blue in the WAModern skin replaced by green, with RGB 90, 100, 90 or something close as the dominant shade, please. On a windows box, hit PrintScreen, open paint, paste, say yes to resizing, select the area you want, copy, new file, paste, save as jpeg (for compression and accurate colours, if you dont care about the colours then save as gif for better detail).

Thanks for the advice, but there doesn't seem to be much value in doing that since, as I mentioned, the screenshot wouldn't represent what I'm looking for by way of colours. I only referred to the Winamp colour themes feature as a reminder that the idea of varying the skin's colour has already been taken on board by its authors. I'm also assuming that KD has ready access to Winamp, since he ported the skin.

This is more... olive green I think. Just played with the color thing in photoshop. And yes I know the XMPlay icon looks weird atm.



Either that or I'll just port the Clover scheme over.

KD: Your olive green effort is very close to what I'm looking for - many thanks. More pleasing than Clover in my view - the latter has a rather harsh feel to it.

Hi,

I noticed only recently (since upgrading to 3.5 but have to admit can't remember what previous version 3.* I had) that there is a new button available in the playlist panel area: Visualisation.

WAModern doesn't have this button but the whole background (#19 via mask_info_list.bmp) of the playlist panel has become a button so moving it is annoying (since you have to grab it far enough left):



Would it be possible to re-release the .xmpskin version with the palette adjusted? I changed the background in mask_info_list.bmp to black but was too stupid to figure out how to do it properly in GIMP.

Also: I noticed that the version here is different (older?) compared to the one on the support site.

Ah yes, the WAModern skin's playlist/library window mask was using the vis button index (which the skin predates) as the background colour. An update with that corrected is now up on the XMPlay page.

I like this skin very much, but there is a problem, that prevents me from using new version: the font of the song title field does not support cyrillic.
It would be very nice, if there will be some setting to make a skin use default font instead of one defined in a skin.

Sources are available on the Support Site. Edit skinconfig.txt so it uses Arial or whatever font you prefer. Recompiling to .xmpskin is not neccesary, XMPlay can use the files directly.

Thank you for this method, this is better than nothing, but it requires fonts to be installed in the system (I don't know why it doesn't load them from skin folder). It's not very difficult, but prevents XMplay to be portable.

That is a limitation Windows, not XMPlay. Fonts have to be registered in the System to be used.

If you don't want to install additional fonts, replace all fonts in the skin with Arial. (Or open the required fonts with the font viewer, although that's not very elegant.)
