Hi.
I have a 5.1 system, the center speaker can be heard.
With "windows media play does.
XMPlay is better because I would be able to use all the speakers.

Have you tried the DirectSound output plugin?

I suppose you're trying to play your stereo (mp3-)files through all of your 5 speakers? What soundcard do you have? Is it configured properly as 5.1 system in Windows? What resolution and sample rate are you using in XMPlay? Did you untick 'Downmix multi-channel'? What Windows do you have? Do these test files play on the correct speakers?

XMPlay does not upmix stereo audio, so either your driver or the soundcard has to do that. It usually works with the DirectSound output plugin, but only if the resolution is set to 16-bit and 'Disable hardware mixing' is not ticked. If that doesn't work, you'll have to provide us with a little more information about your system.

The resolution was set to 24-bit.
Now all ok.
Thank you for the great help!
