Maybe allow adding un-expanded URLs to playlists to library, so they're re-retrieved each time you click it?
Have you tried unticking Options and stuff > Playlist > Library > 'Process playlists'? Then put the playlist URL as an entry in the library, and load it from there. You can use overridden tags to label the different stations.

Thing is, the IP/port changes daily, so I need to retrieve the "current" .pls file from the website each time.

Now THAT'S a kick in the butt, eh?

This isn't a September 19, 2010 type of radio station?

And that's just about what I asked for, thanks! Sure, having the PLS not expand into xmplay playlist would be awesome, but this is all I really need... and I have it at hand. Never really used library, so did not know of that option.

No, it's a station which's repeaters seems to be set up randomly on servers belonging to various universities in my country... if I should guess, users are launching the shoutcast process, then the admins notice and kill... you know, like a whack-a-mole game Wink

And what's supposed to happen on Sunday next week?

Suggestions:

Simple suggestions (can be done by plugin?):
> Config to set the action that occurs when you click the tray icon (like Aimp2).
> Entry on playlist popup menu: stop after current (like Winamp);

Not so simple suggestion
> Together with "expand CUE file to virtual tracks", the virtual tracks should be identified with another color or as CUE.

Controversial suggestions:
> Option to disable totaly the queue;
> Option to disable totaly the audio library (hiding the tab too).

There's a right-click option in the stop button, "Stop at end of track", and you can also assign a shortcut key for it.

Is it possible to show the filenames in the extended playlist without the file paths?

If not, I'd love to see an option like this (to remove the clutter in the playlist, but still see the real filenames).

Not exactly what you asked for but you are aware you can simply edit the tracks titles shown in the list and format them as filenames? You can even set different formating for the playlist panel and the extended playlist...

That is exactly what he asked for Wink. Options and stuff > Titles > change it to %0 (and untick 'Omit extension' if you like).

Those formatting strings don't affect the *extended* playlist (only the regular playlist is modified)

In options and stuff > Playlist   -  disable "Show filenames in extended list".

Strange.  It works now after a restart (the changes are not effective until you close and restart XMPlay. Just pressing 'Apply' doesn't change anything)

How about a new 'Dynamic Reduction' mode for the amp?

The same thing as 'Reduction', but the amplification level should reset to 0.0 dB every 30 seconds.

How would that be a benefit? If there's a track that needs a reduction of say, -4 dB, you'd get a lot of jumps in loudness.

More suggestions:

- Display the output type (WaveOut, ASIO, WASAPI or DirectSound) in the Track Info window

- Increase the EQ range from +/-10dB to +/-12 dB as in the ISO standard. The band frequencies are already ISO compliant.

This and a 10th band (31.5 kHz) for filtering unwanted low frequencies [another suggestion I posted before] will make XMPlay's EQ fully ISO compliant.

Here's an example of an ISO-compliant 31-band graphic EQ (with ISO center freqs and a +/- 12dB cut/boost range):

All archive plugins:

Make contained files visible to the Input plugin as if the archive were a folder. This way shared, soundbank-type files are available to make the separate tracks playable in the archive.  This already works with MINIPSF/MINIPSF2 and PSFLIB/PSF2LIB files.  It does not work with MINIGSF and GSFLIB files, for example.

Why is the RAR plugin slower than ZIP?  Much more complex?

That depends mostly on the compression you've used in the archive. If you use no compression on both, the speed difference should be negligible.
