Well, I'm a super MIDI enthusiast, however I'm not opted to buy a new sound card... I love how XMPlay handles my MIDIs using the Crisi GM Soundfont (1gb in size)  However my games and programs (like rpg maker etc...) all play through the built in windows gm.dls  which sounds like garbage >.<

Ok enough of the backstory...

Is there any way to get programs to play through XMPlay as a mapper?  Want my games to play midis through XMPlay to take advantage of the soundfont capabilities.

That's not possible with XMPlay. You could code such an emulated device with BASSMIDI (which uses the same MIDI core as xmp-midi), but that's not really an easy solution.

thanks for the tip.  i'll put my skills to the test and see what i can come up with.  it may be the next best thing for folks who use onboard realtek.   in the mean time, all i've been able to do was convert my sf2's into dls files...
