Ok, the inbuilt dynamic amp still seems to be working in XM Play. I turned it off.
Using the plug-in in 24 or 32 bit mode reduces the volume so I am using 16 bit.
Is there any way to control it without going so deep into the player options? I am guessing that is not possible.
Thanks to both of your posts and very sorry for being ultra-dumb Smiley

Nope. You could leave the configuration window open, but it'll only work if Options and stuff is opened.

I'm afraid there's not a direct shortcut to turn on/off the DSP plugin. Although you can configure a keyboard shortcut to easily access the DSP plugins. I use Alt + P on my keyboard to access the Plugins. Of course you can always leave it on Cool

It works fine but it doesnt seem to show real time progress. There are no sliders to show the amplification as in the in-built amp.

There are sliders where you can adjust the normalization volume and also the volume change speed. Press the "config" button on the right to enter these options:
1.

2.

Of course the sliders cannot move automatically in the same way the ones in XMPlay do, but the changes you make ARE going to be heard in the tracks you play, specially the ones that have lower volume level. Feel free to play with the sliders until you find a setting that suits you better. You'll probably want the volume changes to be gradual, and not so sudden, as this will give a rather unnatural sound.

Cheers Cool

hi, nice guide here. I've got some extra options in the Winamp DSP wrapper window

I have several concerns, I disabled the default DSP normalization, and I'm using WASAPI
but when I put the volume slider to full right, I get clipping and when set to full left, there is still volume, and it should be mute, right ? So is this plugin even working is what I'm wondering.
edit: just found out this plugin ONLY works at Resolution:16 bit  Embarrassed

I believe the DSP wrapper itself is only compatible at 16-bit resolution.

The wrapper can work with 16, 24 and 32-bit integer audio data, but most Winamp DSP plugins only support 16-bit.

Well, there are no labels on the sliders, so left may be intended not to be zero. Do you hear a difference between different positions on the slider? If so, then the plugin is doing something.
