You can use winamp's dsp plugins.

By the way, I recommend the one that I use, it is called Heurisitical Sound Studio, and it's the better one IMHO. Only 24KB

The plugin doesn't show up in the list of plugins. Can you guide me? Read here: Beginners Guide: DSP Options and plugins on the Support Site. Oh, but it changed a bit. Options and stuff > Plugins, select 'Winamp DSP wrapper' in the dropdown box, click Add, click Config, tick Enabled, select the plugin. If it works, try with 24 bit and 32 bit as well.

1. Copy the Heuristical Sound Studio file (dsp_zsc.dll) in your plugins folder 2. Right-click on the player to go to "Options and stuff", go to the Plugins section. On that window choose Winamp DSP wrapper, click on the Add button. 3. Next step is to choose the DSP plugin. With Winamp DSP wrapper selected, click on the Config button, and choose Heuristical Sound Studio. Customize the volume to your liking. Be sure that the Enable box is selected and choose 16 bit. 4. That's it! Enjoy your songs with the new plugin. Cheers

As an option you can download my customized XMPlay with the plugin activated here. Let me know how the plugin worked out for you.

1. First you have to download the Winamp DSP wrapper here and install it in your plugins folder. The file you linked to is not the wrapper, but the SDK to create you own native XMPlay DSP plugins. The wrapper (xmp-wadsp.dll) is in the default XMPlay archive, so you've probably got it already.

Thanks for the posts guys. I dont think I am doing everything correctly, but I am not sure what else to do. When I click on config, I am taken to the DSP menu where I see the equalizer etc...I also get to see the default dynamic amplification etc. I have dsp_zsc.dll and the xmp-wadsp.dll in the folder. As for your custom exe, I downloaded it before and it is too bulky for me. I dont want all the extras. Thanks anyway.

You have the files in XMPlays directory. Start XMPlay, open Options and stuff, go to the Plugins page. From the dropdown box at the top, select 'Winamp DSP wrapper' and click Add. It'll now add the wrapper to the active plugins list below. Select 'Winamp DSP wrapper - no plugin' (NOT the equalizer as you did before) and click Config. A new window pops up, set the resolution to 16 bit, tick 'Enabled' and select Heuristical Sound Studio from the plugin list. The configuration window for the plugin should open automatically, otherwise you can click Config in this window. Does it work now? If you want to remove this plugin from the DSP chain, go to Options and stuff > Plugins, select 'Winamp DSP wrapper - Heuristical Sound Studio' and click Remove.

Here's a graphic example in addition to Dotpitch's step-by-step to make it even more clear: 1. 2. 3. Yes, the custom exe is a little bulky because it has goodies such as DSP plugins and Winamp vis such as Milkdrop. I compiled what I consider the VERY BEST skins, visualizations and winamp plugins. I trimmed it a little bit. Hope this helps!
