Hi,

I'm using BASS on the PC. My game plays a streamed MP3. When I play explosion SFXs the music ducks by about 30% in volume.

Is there anyway I can stop this?

As far as I can see I'm using the default setting for the stream and effects.

Cheers,
Steve

What Windows version are you using? That sounds like it could be Vista/7's limiter kicking-in, due to the level getting too high. Try lowering the volume levels of the MP3 and SFX, and see if that makes a difference. To simplify matters, you can make use of the global volume config options (BASS_CONFIG_GVOL_STREAM/SAMPLE), to lower the volume levels for all streams and samples. To find good levels, you could try playing with the BASSTEST.EXE example (in C\BIN), which includes those global volume options.

Hi Ian,

Yup... that's the problem. Just playing everything a little quieter fixed it.
Nice one!
