un4seen website icon

The favicon of the website has disappeared a while ago already. Is it only in my browser or on purpose?

Yep, I don't recall there ever being one either. What did it look like?

I must have forgot that it was my own selection of favicon in my browser  ;) After reinstalling the browser I was surprised not seeing an icon next to the un4seen link anymore.

I think the icon I used was created originally by Rah'Dick for xmplay.

I do remember it was a '4' pretty similar to that of un4seen logo on the site :).

I found this old topic while searching for a reason why this site doesn't have a favicon.

The favicon doesn't seem too hard to implement (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon) and it would help project a better image (if you'll pardon the pun).  The existing tray icon would be a likely candidate.

un4seen is more than just XMPlay, though...

You're right, of course.

The un4seen logo seems too long to make a legible square icon.

Any other ideas?

I have now put up an icon that's centred on the "4" in the un4seen logo, like raina's but with the neighbouring letters present (and slightly dimmed). I think it looks pretty decent for 16x16, but perhaps also a bit too busy for 16x16?

Looking good :)

I don't think it's too "busy", I can't tell if a plain 4 would be better.

I have to say that this is the first that time I've actually managed to spot the "4" in the logo. X)
And yeah, it looks nice indeed as a favicon.

I use Firefox, and while I can see lots of other favicons, this one does not come through.  I tried beating it up and changing things around, but no joy.

I had to switch to Internet Explorer to see the favicon (quite nice, I might add).

Does anybody see the icon with Firefox?  If so, then I'll beat up my copy some more....

Sure, the icon is visible here. Try cleaning your browser cache. A simple Ctrl+Shift+R on this page might help already...

The Ctrl-Shift-R didn't work, so I had to get even deeper into the cleaning out mode.

Finally got it!

Now I can go celebrate... thanks!
