Decoding multiple files from MO3
« on: 25 Jun '10 - 10:46 »
I have an MO3 file that xmplay tells me includes 14 sub-songs. However, using unmo3.exe on the file extracts all the songs as a single big .xm instead of 14 smaller ones. How do I make unmo3 separate the sub-songs into separate files when decoding the MO3?

The subsongs are not supposed to be separated. That's not MO3's fault, it's because the original XM was like this as well. If you do want to separate the subsong, you'll have to do that yourself using a tracker.

Hm, I see now. Thanks. By tracker, you mean something like Modplug Tracker, right?

The original ModPlug Tracker can probably split the songs, yes. You can also try OpenMPT or MilkyTracker.

OpenMPT might be the most convenient because you can just drag&drop and also cut&paste whole order selections, making it easy to split the orderlist up into the invidiual tracks and just keeping one track at a time. :) In the old MPT, it might be rather tiresome to delete orders one by one.
