Put the RSS/XML address in the Open URL box and hit the button. XMPlay will check the feed only once, you have to update it manually.

http://www.radio.rai.it/radio3/podcast/rssradio3.jsp?id=273 The RSS address does not have an xml extension, so XMPlay does not know this is an RSS feed. Instead, it tries to connect to a stream at that address, which is obviously not available. Ian, perhaps XMPlay should test an URL for being RSS as well, just like for ASX/PLS/M3U on dynamically generated HTML/XML pages.

Make sure you do not allow multiple instances (untick Options and stuff > Miscellaneous > 'Allow multiple instances') and call xmplay "http://put.URL.here" for every URL you'd like to load. Does that work?

Why, when I finish listening to broadcast podcasts, XMPlay does not pass automatically to the next play but ends?

Why, when I finish listening to broadcast podcasts, XMPlay does not pass automatically to the next play but ends? Specifically with podcasts, or with any track? On Options and stuff > Playlist, be sure to tick 'Auto-advance'. If you want XMPlay to keep looping the whole list, tick 'Loop' as well.

For some reason, you can't seek ahead with a stream with xmplayer. In other words, you can't drag the progress bar ahead to a certain point in a streaming podcast; it will only allow you to start from the beginning. VLC will let you do this, but the player crashes at least once while you're listening to a stream, and I wish I could use xmplayer instead.

XMPlay will only let you seek to downloaded parts of the file, it will not let you decide where it should continue downloading. Untick Options and stuff > Miscellaneous > 'Restrict download rate' if you'd like XMPlay to download the file as fast as possible (rather than at a rate to sustain playback).

That's a shame. I'll have to find a different player. Also, right-clicking on the close button and selecting "close with position saved" doesn't work here in 3.6.0.1. It just starts from the beginning. At least, with the streams I've tried.

I take it that's with the same HTTP podcasts? Then that's probably the same limitation. Is the podcast in CBR MP3?

Yeah, resuming on close isn't supported with any streamed podcast, so I'm assuming it's the same limitation. The streams are MP3 and appear to be CBR.
