I was observing a corelation between the WAModern-WAClassic skins and some of the visualizations (Honto's Phase, CoR's Spec'n'Hop, SpectrumBars). They seem a bit jerky with these skins. I waited until a new "stuff" version to see if the problem was fixed but it is still there.

The new "Aiwa" skins also seem to be affected by this behaviour, so maybe it is related with XMPlay's new spectrum feature?

I think I might see something that could cause that. Here's an update to try...

Let me know if you still see a problem with it.

btw, I noticed a little thing with the new spectrum while in minimode: if an info bubble goes over it, the spectrum will acts like it's "resetting", showing all bar full, then starting to work again. I don't know if it's the same thing other experience. it's easy to reproduce: lt's say you're using the new WA modern in minimode, just over te cursor on the postion bar, just under the spectrum.

Strange, I don't seem to be able to reproduce that problem. What Windows version are you using?

I think it might have something to do with video drivers.  I've had a machine that would behave strangely on some skins.  The sliders (volume,  balance, eq) would visually pop to extreme settings, either max or min.  Audio never changed.  It seemed to happen when the control got focus (lit up).

I mentioned it here, and then dropped it when it was clear that it was something strange on my particular machine.  That machine was Windows XP SP3 but is now running Ubuntu, so I can't go back to test it again.

I've also experienced weird graphical glitches with the latest stuff builds (a quick flash with vertical stripes in the extended playlist window) when changing the focus from the main window to the playlist window with the mouse.

The latest stuff build (from the link above) introduced yet another glitch. Now I get overlapped text as well.

It DID finally correct the problem with the visualizations Smiley.
However, it did introduced the above graphic glitch on the NNP-2 and NNP-3 skins, as well as in the "Visuals" button on Neutron.

mmm, further test on the latest stuff (.40) and wa modern skin points out that... it's probably something like Jimmy Neutron supposed (driver dependent, or machine dependent), since the same xmplay from usbkey that works on workbox presents the glitch on homebox, even if the new stuff build doesn't presents the glitch immediately, but after a bit of clicking on the interface, then desktop, then interface, windows, bar, ...
I try getting a new driver version, to see if it makes any difference. might try the -boost (interface) too to see if it helps.

Oops, here's a correction for that...

Did the problem just begin with one of the "stuff" builds, or does it happen with the release version too? Also, what graphics card/chipset are you using in each case, and are you using XP SP3 in both cases?

mmm, I suppose it startd someway along latest stuffs, since it affects the spectrum in minimode only (which I never seen on stable build).
both PC use xp sp3, and both have an nvidia gpu (not integrated, different cards), with different driver version. I'll report what happens installing the last drivers on homebox (not a gamer, so I'm not on the latest version always).

A couple of pages back in this thread.
The updated WAModern skins are now available here.
The skins will eventually end up on the main page and on the Support Site as well.

I checked with various drivers updates, but the issue with the mini spectrum still persists.
any idea on how I can track the cause down?

Thanks Ian, for posting the files ahead of time - so we can preview and enjoy what's in the 'pipe-line'. And thanks Keltic for putting together some new skins. XMplay should look as good as it sounds. Just as long as it doesn't turn into bloated Winamp, or worse... iTunes. Tongue

Couldn't agree more!  Cool

For future reference, can you please use an image host (ImageShack, imgur, Tinypic, etc) for posting screenshots, rather than a file host? It seems rather silly to have to download an image to your computer when a web browser can handle that for you.

1.5x/2x size versions will be made by request.
Could we get 2x versions of MMD3? Actually, on my 1920x1200 monitor I could do even better with a 2.5x size. I understand you might not have time for this anytime soon, but I'm putting in a request. Great work on all of these, much appreciated, KD!

Thanks for the good player and nice skins!

I think it's a good idea to make a minimum width of the extended playlist and the main panel the same, as in the original Winamp.

btw, I noticed WA modern skins miss a "sort" button in the extended playlist; will this be implemented? I kind of miss it Wink
