Umm... It seems like the menu is back in the play button again Roll Eyes.

I can't duplicate that here with 3.6.0.26 on Win 7-x64.  Exactly what stuff version are you using?

Oh, now I see. I've had the player pinned to my taskbar for a long time, and I installed another version of Windows recently. The pinned icon loaded an older version from my other HD, from where I used to launch it. Not sure how it went like that, or why I even still had the player there.

N00bish, but I guess I've been unwittingly using .23 for a quite a while now Embarrassed.

A sleep mode for XMplay? I often go to sleep with XMplay running and playing shoutcast radios URLs. I'd like an option to quit or at least stop XMplay after some time...
I don't want an option to put the whole system in sleep/hibernation (there are many solutions for this including some Sidebar gadgets like 'Autoshutdown Restyled'). Just a sleep mode for XMplay.  Wink

Where do you use those in your tags?

I have lots of game rips in various esoteric formats, some tagless and with hexadecimal numbers in their file names.

Currently the playlist sort options do not include all the library fields. Anytime I want to sort the list by "play count"/age or "last played" I need to return to the library , select the files again , sort them and send them back to the playlist.

It is a little tedious , so can all the library fields be added to the sort options in the playlist?

You cannot keep the Info Window when minimizing, but you can bring it back without opening the Main Window. Minimize to tray, right-click the icon and choose 'Info Window'. You can also assign a shortcut to 'Info - Open/close window', or to any page of the Info Window you're after.

The option to open the Library window full-screen (automatically re-sizing the columns) with a shortcut key would be a great addition and would make the library much easier to read and more easier to read too.  Smiley

I was thinking about the search patterns. Why not go one more step and make them usable as "smart" playlists?

Adding the possibility to combine sorting options to a search pattern would make it a "complete" criteria based list that can be re-loaded again and again.

I'm not really sure how useful they will be, but here you go Smiley

That's already there, if you put all you tracks in the playlist and tick 'Skip playback of non-matching tracks' in the Find Window.

I am aware of this. Thanks Dotpitch. It is possible today with a few actions to get the same result:You need to update the playlist to match the current library , select the search pattern and then select the sort order.

But what is the purpose of the library if you need to copy all of it to the playlist each time? It should serve as a database - from it you select each time the wanted tracks and play them in the playlist.

With this suggestion you would be able to draw from the library lists based on preset terms.A search criteria can be defined like this :

%genre=jazz %sort=(%age,%artists,%albums,%track)

An extra option or a list that replaces the list with the matched tracks would then offer a smarter and quicker way to handle repeated selected playlists.

Not a huge revolution but it makes things a little easier Wink Could you just add the library "age" to these sort options? thanks!

'Play from Library' is on the list of suggestions, that should solve this issue.

I'd suggest not to put that in the Find Window, but in a separate one. Dynamic playlist plugin perhaps? It would certainly make XMPlay a hands-off 24/7 music box Smiley.
