in win7 BASS_DEVICEINFO.driver returns as {0.0.1.00000000}.{6a2e51b5-1e22-4d3a-8d2b-a2e1152f4e2d}
in winxp it returns as usbaudio.sys w\o any GUID of driver...
but why?

On Vista/7, DirectSound gives the device's endpoint ID (instead of the driver filename), which can be used to access the device via WASAPI.

The endpoint ID was introduced with WASAPI, so only applies to Vista/7. Perhaps you would like to have the Device Instance Id/Path, as shown in the Device Manager? Here is a thread on how to get that information...
