I am using the SPDIF out on my motherboard to feed my EMU-0404 SPDIF in, with XMplay to play Flacs. I have no problems (other than stuttering when my cpu bogs down) if I use USB with this setup, but I wanted to try the SPDIF connection.

I've been beating my head against the wall for a while now and cannot get this to work. I have the ASIO plugin, but when I select the SPDIF output, I get nothing. Any ideas?

If you have Windows Vista or 7, could you give xmp-wasapi a try? If not, can you get sound over SPDIF with something other than ASIO?

I'm using ASIO SPDIF Out for a year. I have ASUS Xonar DS sound card with SPDIF Out, and external DAC with SPDIF In, works very well.
Maybe it's something with setup of your integrated sound card?

How did you make it work, Spdif using ASIO?

I have an Asus Xonar DX card and i don't know how to get ASIO with SPDIF output working.
