I'm looking for a way to embed custom metadata to audio files without breaking the file format.

Can I do it with BASS or any of its add-ons?
If not, any suggestions for where to look would be appreciated.

Thanks

You could place custom metadata in a tag block. BASS doesn't support tag writing itself, but there are 3rd-party libraries that you can use to do that. Note different audio file formats use different types of tags, but if the metadata is just for your app's use, you could stick to ID3v2 or APE tags as BASS supports reading them with all file formats.
