the sound device of my computer is broken, as such that the output signal of the left channel is dead; hence i depend on the Pan Separation feature to downmix the sound to a mono signal, in order to hear the complete sound

however, the effect turns out to fail under certain circumstances, and from what i've observed, it appears to relate to the panning effect of XM modules...

i have recorded the instance from one such module, where it caught my attention, which can be downloaded here

it's an 8 second clip which should demonstrate the Pan Separation being ignored, if you pay attention to the lead synth near the end

the module in question can be downloaded here, of which the recorded clip is from pattern 19

Can't you just set the output to mono?

If the OP is looking at the skin only, there won't be a mono/stereo button.

Have to go into:  Options and stuff > Output > Channels > Mono

(I know you already know this... but the OP doesn't...)

I forgot to mention yesterday that the latest update has a tweak to how the pan separation works. It used to leave things that were panned far left/right and move the stuff in between closer to the centre when pan separation was reduced, but now it will also bring far left/right stuff towards the centre.
