I use XMPlay with Stereo Tool for Winamp. When I have the visible module, start in tray selected, the icon in the system tray does not go away when XMPlay is ended. It's a small bug, just annoying when there are multiple icons sitting in the tray and I have to clean them up by rolling the mouse over them. I have tried this with other players and it does not happen so I don't think the problem is with Stereo Tool.

This happens when you kill a process that has an icon on the tray. I don't know this tool, but your description makes me think XMPlay is killing the process before it can exit properly.

The plugin appears to be being told to close by XMPlay (via the DSP wrapper) properly, but perhaps that is happening later than the plugin wants/needs (it happens after the XMPlay window has been closed) and it is unable to remove the tray icon. Then again, XMPlay removes its own tray icon around the same time and that seems to go fine, so I'm not sure. I'll try to find a solution.
