I think there's an encoder 'guide' around here somewhere (the XMplay support site?), but I was hoping someone could save me the time to find it and give me a quick/brief explanation? I've only ever used the 'Lame' and 'ogg' encoders that come with xmplay, which are already set-up. I'd like to use the opus encoder since it seems to be better than mp3 and ogg, but I have no clue when it comes to the Command-line parameters. All I need is the simple basic/standard options, nothing fancy. Any help is appreciated.

See Illustrated Manual - 4.11.1 Encoder output on how to add encoders and Illustrated Manual - 8.01 External Encoders for command line explanations. For Opus, you will need something like:
opusenc --bitrate 96 - %o
Default extension is opus, resolution can be set to 32-bit. Ofcourse, you can change the bitrate Wink.

Ok, I tried that but it didn't work for me. I think it might be that the latest version says it now has unicode support - but I'm running Win 98SE Tongue, which usually won't work with unicode. They only have the source code posted for the previous version (0.1.3). If anyone has the compiled exe for that version, or is able to compile it and upload it that would be great. Thanks again.

Attached you can find opusenc 0.1.3. Does it work if you call 'opusenc -h' from the command line?

There was a problem with the channel order in multi-channel Opus files, so here's an update to correct that...

Thanks alot, that version worked just fine - I didn't even have to try the "-h" in the command line. Like I said before, I think it's because of the issue with unicode. Now I can encode with opus too. Smiley
