Question about BASS and XMPlay...

Ian, since XMPlay is based on the BASS library, do you release new builds for XMPlay when you improve on BASS? I'm a little confused on the relation.

Well, as it seems to me that most of the updates will not be applicable to XMPlay; however, I am sure that in the next recompile, Ian will include those improvements into XMPlay 2.7a.

XMPlay isn't really "based on" BASS, but they do share quite a lot of code - ie. the MOD/MPEG/OGG decoding. So changes to the shared code applies to both, while other changes don't :)

Will gapless OGG play be included in the next version of XMPlay (yes, it's me again with that same question)?

Ian @ un4seen

It's a possibility, but I can't promise anything :)

In the meantime, you should have noticed quite a big improvement in 2.7, regarding the gap between tracks.

Ian @ un4seen

It does depend on the speed of your system - the faster your system, the smaller the gap.

So, before I download 2.8 and get disappointed...

...is there now gapless ogg playback a la Coolplayer and Winamp?
