Are there any known issues related to MP3 playback on OSX Mountain Lion?
I can't seem to be able to play MP3 files with the MP3 free version of the BASS lib on the Mountain Lion preview.

I was wondering if this might be a BASS problem or if I should wait for the full version of the OS.

I'm also unable to play MP3 files using the MP3-free version on OSX 10.8. I guess there's still MP3 support somewhere since I can still play .mp3 using QuickTime player.

Why not make this as a plugin (bass_mp3.dll)?
that would be awesome!!!

You can dynamically load the plugin as needed and
avoid  licensing and patent issues

just a suggestion but
maybe just keep the MP3 free version and if bass_mp3.dll is loaded use the plugin as the main decoder!

An updated "mp3-free" DYLIB to fix MP3 playback on OSX 10.8 is now up in the OSX BASS package.
