Is it XMplay able to stream audio over the own ip ? VLC media player for example it is able to perform it.
In the case of the dsp plugin Oddcast, require extra installation icecast program where vlc require nothing to stream over the ip.

thx in advance

No, XMPlay cannot do that natively.

then, it is a clear suggestion for the next xmplay version.

stream over the own ip is always cleaner than to have to install other programs such as icecast or others.

what you think about

I don't think this is ever going to happen, since it would bloat XMPlay significantly. Maybe as a plugin of some sort, but not as built-in functionality.
If you think it's so important, why don't you step up and built such a plugin yourself? Smiley

sorry but i think that this feature is extremelly important.

See the advantage that is to stream over your own ip without to have to install other programs.
It is the only one feature that i really like in the vlc media player, and the unique reasson to use it Tongue

For me is a clear suggestion.

I've put it in the Plugins section of the list of suggestions, don't worry Wink.

ShoutCast and IceCast stream from your own IP address. And a feature should be useful, irrespective of whether some other program has it.

Let me correct that sentence: This feature might be extremely important to you but no the general audience (or else it would have been suggested dozens of times before). I can live very well without such a feature. Again, if it is so important for you, learn C/C++ (if you don't know it already), get the plugin SDK from Ian and write a streaming plugin. That's probably the quickest solution.

Nope, I don't see the advantage, since I rarely ever use streaming. And if I ever do stream broadcasts, I have to use Icecast on my server anyway since my bandwidth is kinda small.
XMPlay doesn't need to become the same coffee-making lawnmower as VLC is.

Implementing such features compromising the size and responsiveness of the player would go against what XMPlay is all about.
However, it would be nice to have such feature as a plugin. Cool
