QuoteDo you guys also have seconds shown in timestamps in for example IRC and ICQ clients? :)

From my Yahoo logs:

 This is just hilariously ironic.

Seriously, though, I do use 1/10th seconds to accurately cue my .LRC files, and the only other method I have is my sister's walkman, which is in NYC at the moment. ;D

Old topic, I know, but I thought I'd add my two cents.

I just played UT on a Celeron 300 running at 450, with a Voodoo 1 card as renderer, XMPlay was playing in the tray, and there were no problems on my win2k besides the little crackles it would give due to my crap drivers.  But they weren't too frequent at all.

Come to think of it, I've tried having it run with various games (Q3A, UT, Worms World Party, Worms Blast, Tiberian Sun) and have had no problems other than lagged response (press the global hotkey and a second later it changes track), and ocassionally it drops out for a bit, like when listening to a stream over a slow connection.

BTW, one of these days I'll have to challenge you to Unreal Tournament, Ralesk. I wonder who will come out the victor...

Olego

Hey, mind if I join in?   :)

Ralesk

Should we start the [XMP] or [U4S] clan or something? ;D ;D ;D

Torkell

Yeah, why not? The clan page can be hosted on this site as well...

QuoteUn4seen.com: home of XMPlay, BASS audio library, and clan [XMP]! Let the fragging commence! 8)

If we start it up then how many people should we have and what games? So far it looks like we have me (BoggyB), Olego, Kynes and Ralesk in. It'll certainly be UT, but what about other games... (Q3A, UT2k3, CS, etc, etc)

I used to have UT, but if I get another copy... I'll be willing to join in. :)

I have UT2k3, but it's slow as hell on my computer, and it hangs on my parent's XP box. *shrug*

XMP

[XMP] looks neater than [U4S].  It is easier to type, too.  And I am all for the idea.  I prefer UT to UT2K3, the later is like Quake III to UT.  ;D  But yea, go clan XMP.  Ian, do you approve?  And can I recruit yet?  :P

~Olego~

Ralesk

I'm mainly UT. I guess it'd be high time to learn CS someday soon, too.  Does CS run on Voodoo 1 Glide?

Olego

I'm pretty sure that it does, because HL (1) has the best rendering for its time and (2) HL does very well with 3dfx cards; I think it was better with comparable d3D but don't quote me on that.  But with proper tweaking it will go a long way.

So, are we yet clan [XMP] for UT, CS, and maybe UT2K3?  ;D

*coughcough* Quake runs on pretty much anything

Torkell

Quote*coughcough* Quake runs on pretty much anything
It runs on pretty much anything that supports OpenGL, which is not natively provided by Micro$oft. You need drivers from the graphics card manufacturer which support OpenGL to run Quake III Arena (AFAIK).

Torkell

Ian, do you play UT/CS/Q3A/UT2k3?

Ian @ un4seen

Nope. I did briefly try UT a while ago, and CS even more briefly ;D

Zarggg

ANyone have any copies of Quake II sitting around I could leech? ;D

Jace

I didn't say a thing about Q3A.. I said Quake.. ;D
Quake = Quake
Quake 2 = Quake 2
Quake 3 = Quake 3
simple as that

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... of course Quake will run on anything *except* NT and probably 2000/XP as its DOS, isn't it *has never seen a copy of Quake and is prentending to be knowledgeable *

Ian, would you endorse a "clan [XMP]"? ???

Jace

I've played Quake on NT, and have often matched against one guy who had 2k and now has XP.. And it works like a beaut!
Besides, there are several unix/linux Quakes too (including textmode ;D) and it also works on Amiga (I think it was 2000 with cdrom or something)! (Have seen with my own eyes)

Textmode :o where can I get it!

Oh, come on! Amiga 2000 wasn't even near the best of Amiga family. There was Amiga 4000, and I think A1200 was better than 2000 too.. :)

Oh, and don't forget Amiga CD32; the first cd based console even before 3D0, Playstation and the rest!

Jace

Maybe it wasn't the best, but that (I believe) it was which I saw Quake running on ;)
(VERY slowly, I should add)

Quake Tenebrae
Quake Retexturing Project

Get this! :D

Oh btw, you need an original Quake CD.

Jace

You mean: "Get this! ..If you have 3GHz cpu and 512MB RAM and GeForce37 or Radeon42, and STILL want to run it below 15fps!"? </exaggeration> ;)

And besides, I can't see why it would require the CD.. I haven't put it in for ages, and Tenebrae (or anything else) hasn't asked for it.. ;D
All you need is full version of Quake, really =)
