I have an album encoded with Xing(old) 256kbs (not by me).  When playing the file with XMP, at the start of each new track within the file, there is a short nasty noise (skrtchhh!) in the left ear. I don't get this in WMP.  When I load the file into my editor, there is no anomoly.  I tried saving off one of the offending sections, but can't get it to repeat that way.  I also tried other album files with the same encoding and bit rate, but there is no problem.  I also tried all variations of ramping and auto amp reduction, without a change in the noise.

Has anyone experienced anything like this

The file is 93 MB, will that be a problem?  I don't know how to cut out a section and preserve the problem.  Also, do I just ftp the file to that directory?

Since the glitch is in the beginning, I guess a portion of the file should be enough.  FTP upload a couple hundred kilos of it.
