Beta Release?

Hello i have a suggestion it would be a good thing to post a Beta version of 2.7 or some other release of XMPlay so others can help out whith the debugging.

Or just test the new version so others can get a opinion of the new version before it comes out as actual release.

Ian @ un4seen

There are a few people who receive beta versions to test. Others are welcome to be beta-testers too, but they should ideally be heavy XMPlay users, otherwise they're unlikely to find any bugs/etc... which isn't much use :)

That reminds me... i still hit a bug in XMPlay somtimes using the spectrum vis... Next time it happens, I'll post the dump.

Hey Ian.. When you've added the separate 'tick_loop.bmp' and 'tick_random.bmp' pics for the infowindow playlist, I'd love to give it a try.. ;D

I'd like to become a beta tester for XMPlay. I use it most of the time (mainly in systray mode - that reminds me, is the currently downloadable version patched for the 'disappearing icon' bug?), often while playing Q3A or UT. I'm willing to muck around with new features and try o break it (not that I don't do that already ;D). How many beat testers do you have at the moment, anyway?

The regulars who receive beta versions are Keltic, Ralesk and Rahdick. Others also get betas occasionally, for example, to test particular fixes. I'll add you to the "regulars".

I don't think that "disappearing icon" thing is in the downloadable version, but I can send a beta if you want ;D

Ok, it'll be in your mailbox when it's done :)

Will check the downloadable version and let you know.

Thanks again.

My forum e-mail is Yahoo, which has size limits and whatnot. I'll PM you with my private addy (ISP-based, unfiltered) to use for the beta versions.

Ian, any chance I can get on the list? :D

Ian.
How mutch is left on XMPlay 2.7?
Is it like 80% done or is it more or less?

QuoteI've been concentrating on BASS recently, so have not yet really started on any XMPlay 2.7 additions (apart from the tag/title updating thing and non-interpolated mixing). BASS 1.8 will be released soon, then I will start looking into all the suggestions/requests :)
So my guess is, it's not quite 80% through yet, but we'll see :).

*cough*
Ian, while you're at it, could you look into the possibility of adding "button_loop_mini.bmp"? :D
Thanks!

Guan

Ian can you please send me XMPlay 2.7 beta?

you can send it to my email address

The bug which I mentioned before hasn't disappeared yet, but I found out how to reproduce it (at least on my machine).
I'm talking about the panel playlist not getting visually cleared when deleting all tracks.
Well, it only happens when all visible playlist slots are full AND I choose "Remove all" - then I have to move the cursor over the playlist in order to clear all slots. Happened with both SilverXP and Snatch skin (haven't tested with others).

You got RahDick, thats exacly how it happens, i am able to reproduce it on my machine too, same way, the playlist slots full and using the Remove All..

I can add to this, that it also doesn't refresh the list when it's full and you sort it in some way (using the function in Xmplay of course). Here too, you must move the mouse over the list to see the result.

Ian, could you possiby email me the beta you're working on as well when you have a working executable? I'd like to try it out as well. Also, would you happen to know what causes pops and clicks I hear when I'm playing mod files sometimes? I am using a VIA chpset and had heard that VIA chipsets and Soundblaster Audigy 2 cards don't play well together. I noticed that I don't hear the clicks as much when I set the sound output to "32 bit" instead of "16 bit" any ideas why this would be?
