The buttons are that small that you'll need 640x480 in order to use the skin properly ;)

Definitely. And the fish has to rotate, similar to OggDropXPd's fish while encoding (or it should move rhythmically to the music and change colour = visualization plugin).

Seems like this is a statement (or a joke?) about skin creation I don't understand, because I don't know anything about this topic. ???

The CEO of Xiph.org wrote on Hydrogenaudio that he'll give away vector graphic versions of the ogg fish for free for purposes like that - he just wants to know about it.

Well, I mean, fonts that are simple bitmap images, therefore well usable in fixed and/or small size environments, like shown in the title area of the proposed skin.  They are not well scalable, however (viz. windows font "System" or "Terminal")

I can create any such font, though I'll give it either a standard DOS U.S. charset (CP437) or an Impulse Tracker-like charset.

I see. IMHO fonts aren't important at all. We just MUST HAVE this fish (maybe some parts of the fish can be abused as buttons ...). Just in case you didin't get it: The picture of my first post is an *existing* skin for coolplayer (see link) - I meant it would be great to have something similar for XMPlay as it's kind of stupid to use another player just because of a skin.

I'm waiting for foobar2000 getting a skinnable ui seperated from core - so I (or someone else) could make a skin like this for it. MWHOAHOAHAHAHAH !  :evil: :laugh:

Seriously: I think it needs much patience to wait for this - so I'll look into it TM when I've got too much time.
