My opinion about XmPlay!

hello world,
i discovered XmPlay only some weeks ago.
i really like it, it's not the usual, boring, f*cking slow audio files player with a lot of useless graphix visualizations and functions!

XmPlay runs speedy on my computer (P3 500 /128mb ),only 6% of the processor. (Windows Media Player sux 27%, Musicmatch jukebox sux 23%). and it looks not bad (with "flatline" skin  :))..

now it's my only player. i deleted Windows Media Player, i deleted Music Match and i use only Xmplay now. but...

there is always a "but"..

i think that XmPlay urgently need these things:
 a) a decent ID3v2 tags support for mp3, ogg, wma, monkey
    audio and the rest;
 b) a media archiver, anything for making a database of the
media files available into a custom folder. (i think at
anything like MusicMAtch Jukebox library, with "Print"
    and "Repair Broken Links" functions)

i hope my suggests will help.
plz make an XmPlay that i can use as the ONLY player of my comp..:)

btw: how can i set a different VST plugins directory??

hoping in an answer...

my free .ogg music project is available on
http://ladproject.cjb.net

see Links section :)

later.

ID3v1/v2 tags are supported via WinDamp in_mp3
OGG tags are supported via WinDamp in_vorbis

ya but i can only see them into the info, i can't modify them, right?

not an "Edit tags" menù like in Winamp or like in MusicMatch Jukebox..  or yes??

blb!

You can modify them.  Right-click the entry of the playlist and a choose "Plug-in Info" or some such.

i tried in_vorbis.com and in_mp3.dll.. they work but
i need more.. in_mp3.dll doesn't support ID3v2 tags :(

Yes it does...  At least all the standard ones (which is all you really need IMHO -- if you want lots of random fancy tags, use OGG  )
