Blue II Skin

hey,

I really love the Blue II Skin, but would it maybe be possible to make the transport buttons(prev, stop, play, next), scrollbar and seekbar a few pixels larger? On 1024x768 its really a challenge to hit those few pixels with your mouse :)
Besides of that, this would be my new favorite-skin.

thanks for your work,

You probably have a 15" monitor, right? because am in 1024x768 with a 17" and i can hit the playback buttons and the scroll bars with no problems using the mouse..

Arakis

nope, i have a 17" monitor too(and one with a quite good quality).

The prev/next buttons really aren't too small, they extend outwards - and I'm using 1152x864 resolution.  Blue II was made to be compact, so I think they're alright.  Nicely done, KD. :) Although I did notice it was missing the volume slider...

Hehe.. I'm using Blue II at 1024x768 with a 14" Compaq 1024 monitor with no problems :)

The only thing that bugs me in Blue II is the bright reddish orange color of the bar in the pattern view.
The contrast makes my eyes sore and since everything (apart from the XMPlay logo in the upper left corner) is blue or blueish why not make the pattern view bar the same color as the playlist selection color?

raina

Hmm.. I just noticed that the pattern view bar seems to just invert all the colors it encounters.. So I suspect nothing can be done at this point because it obviously is not up to the skin author to decide how the bar acts.

Arakis

hmm, since everyone else here doesn't seem to think the transport-buttons are too tiny, maybe it would be possible to publish the source pics and code so i can try to make the changes myself? please?

Hmm...you will have to talk to KelticDanor, he is the author of this skin...BTW, i havent seen him post any msgs lately, so i think he might be on vacation or something, ask Ian about it too...

If there's a way to make the bare a nice light blue, then I'll be sure to fix it :)

or...

...You can fix it for me ;D as soon as I update the support site... tommorrow or something, I'll have the source available for download (and spherical) so anyone can make any alterations they so desire. :)

I'm running at 2048x1536 and ALL of the skins are WAY too small.  They're useable, but a pain in the ass.  The only one thats about right is the 'Default 1.5x' skin, which is what I use.  Snatch would work, but it takes up more desktop real estate than default@1.5 yet the fonts are smaller.   Too bad too, I like the Blue series skins otherwise.  Maybe there should be a feature that dynamically scales the skin/app window size?  There would be a 1x, 1.5x and 2x size setting.  Just a thought.

Off topic, but I would also like to see a 30hz and 20khz slider added to the EQ, as well as a guassian and/or an MP-style High quality (8point tap?) filter.  I still think this is needed.  Also, an No-filter option would be nice for those older mods that sound too muddy, even with linear interpolation.

Ralesk

A double-sizer is absolutely not an impossible feature to request.

Been asking for no interpolation mode since 1.6... :-/

What "No interpolation" means/do?

Basically, would play the instruments/samples "as is", with no "blurring" of notes.
