Sorry if this has been asked before (couldn't find it with search), but how do you make saving the title of the mp3 or whatever song is playing, to a file? I see the option, 'Auto Filename' under the deevice setup but it only asks the directory where it will write files. But well, it does not write any file even after trrying many directories. Am I doing something wrong or is there some other way to achiev this?

I want to put the song filename to put in to emails that I send. My email client (The Bat!) supports this but I haven't been able to get this xmplay to save the name in to any file. Please help.

From the readme:
"Enabling "AUTO FILENAME" removes the need to select a filename when writing
WAVs or using an external encoder"

So, it's not exactly what you wanted, huh? I haven't heard of there being this kind of option, probably because no one has ever asked, I think. Perhaps you could persuade Ian to add this into the next release .

What kind of media are you trying to save?? If you are refering to saving a stream to your harddisk, then click right on the stream.name in the small playlist and choose "write to disk"

What I want it to do it save only the name of the song being played, to a text file, like how the titlespy plugin does for winamp. I use The Bat! for email and using a %PUT as the macro, I can fetch the songname from the file to include at the end of my emails I send.

The problem with Winamp is that while TB is downloading emails, it kind of hangs or stops for a while. Xmplay doesn't have this problem and I thought that similar title-saving function was possible with xmplay too. Anyway it' snot, as Kynes said. Will be wonderful if it's implemented tho.
