The sound, the sound...
« on: 26 Jan '03 - 17:24 »
Just did my weekly check here, a bit late this time, and found that 2.6 was out.
I'm playing some Flatt & Scruggs, and they sound as enthusiastic as I am.
Anyway, with all the worthy attention to skins et al, I haven't read anything about what's happened to the sound this time.  Maybe it's just me, but it does seem improved.  Anything you can let us know, Ian?
Also, what's this 24/32 bit about?  Anything I should do, or does the program do better without me?
Thanks!

Very perceptive of you, the MP3 decoder is indeed somewhat improved in 2.6... I assume it's MP3s you're playing ;D

Regarding 24/32-bit... if your soundcard is capable of more than 16-bit output, then you can use those options (in "Device Setup") for that little bit extra quality.

To save time for anyone else who doesn't know, SoundBlaster Live is a 16-bit card.
