Is the development of this program stopped?

It's great, though the sound was not good as Timidity, but after convert to MO3, the size was so small and it sound so good, small is beautiful.

I use it to surprise my friends (^_^)

MID2XM was written many years ago in Borland C++, which I don't have anymore. I've heard that BCB can load/compile old Borland projects, so I might try that one day, to recompile it as a Win32 executable Smiley

There were actually also a few improvements after v1.4, that were never released.

Hello Ian,

Nowadays, windows users like expensive hardware to boost the sound of MID files, but I still insist MOD (and those) file format still the best, so I keep changing to XM or MO3.

Looking forward to hear good news from you!  Smiley

I beg to differ, as it's relative to the quality of the user's MIDI hardware -:)

(Edit) Accck! Sorry to dig up this old thread, I misread the year... thought the post I quoted was 03 instead of 02 LOL!

Previous statement still stands 'tho -:)

Which is exactly the problem with it IMHO. People with big expensive MIDI setups making music to be played by people with cheap tinfoil MIDI soundcards. Tongue
And don't forget that aside from the quality of the various GS/GM libraries out there some even lack certain instruments.  Shocked

But as said, MIDI itself is great.

You'ld be surprised at what one can do with nothing but an old AWE32 sound card with 32MB of onboard RAM and a single decent commercial SF2 Soundfont -:)
