I would like to vote for only RBUTTONUP for the context menu in the plugin window. LBUTTONUP is a bit illogical.

Hi Ralesk, Maybe it is illogical, but all of my trayed programs (AIM, MSN, Morpheus) have SOMETHING todo with L-mouse... Of course, Morpheus is different, but I suggested it so that people have options. And in my opinion, double-click is a good thing. BTW, thanks again for adding a poll, Ian. ~Olego~

Why not single click for restore? What's the other click there for?

Oleg... I voted for the double click & rbuttonup for the systray.
however, I mentioned a context menu thingy for the plugin screen in the player itself.

well, lets be realistic, about 90% of apps out the restore on double left click, and have a menu on right click, and do nothing on a single left click. Since this is more common, it'll be far easier for newbies to get a grip on as they won't have to learn anything new. I actually voted for a single click restore. But to keep with my idea, double clicking would be the best choice.

That's reasonable, yea, but I don't think it would really be a problem, if it were different... I was actually glad Xmplay came up with only one click, even though I too had been used to the double-click. Well whatever, it's not very important whether it's single- or double-click

Hi Ian, Remember that the problem with Single Click was that XMPlay was restored on LeftMouseDown message, and the LMOUSEUP was sent to another tray icon? Unfortunately, now, with the double-click, the same happens: on double click, XMPlay gets restored, and the LButtonUp message is still sent to another icon... Is there any way to fix it? As a last resort, XMPlay may need to restore on single-click, but that'd be more convenient than having two windows open when I want only XMPlay... Or is there really a way to capture the double-click with button up? Please come up with something! (Or maybe this whole thing is just in WinXP?) ~Olego~

I voted for rclick for menu and only dblclick for restore. I don't think, however, that leftclick should be useless at all. C'mon you guys, be creative, it's not like there weren't any more functions left! For instance, single left click could play/pause a song, or perhabs skip it. Or open playlist. Or mute a stream while you answer the phone. Lots of possibilities there. Note that single right click is a possible event, too! Or, another idea, click and hold, which could control volume or panning.

I don't mean to be a wet blanket (again ), but don't think we should go too overboard adding things into the systray. It's not always a good idea to shove as much as we can onto the systemtray icon. There is such a thing as having to much functionality, where there's so many features that its just as annoying to use as when it did'nt have any features at all. You just have to find a middle ground where the options are handy but not overwhelming. Maybe the addition of play/pause on a single left click would be good though.

I have an idea for you, why not make the single left click CONFIGURABLE? Double click restore, right click context menu, and a few selections for single left click, such as: Play/Pause Next Track Prev Track Mute (set vol to 0 on one click, set volume to old value on another click) Eq On/Off (I use this one a LOT.) Reverb On/Off ( I use this one a lot too.) Playlist/infowindow open/close without restoring the main XMplay interface.
Those are a few of the highlights, hope this gives you some ideas. Thanks a load for XMplay, it's my very favorite player in the world; The default skin rocks the house too, and the dynamic amp adjustment is a GODSEND! Keep those releases coming, Ian!

I don't know about you guys but personally I think that having BOTH single and double left-click feature with the tray icon will lead to trouble. The double click for restore is pretty logical because it's used in most proggies but if you add PLAY/PAUSE for single click how is the action handled? I mean if you want to restore XMPlay from the tray won't the playback be paused first because of the first click? And if you're going to use a small delay to catch the possible second click (in case of a double click) it'll probably start to annoy the user pretty soon. I rarely use any playback controls so I don't see the point in having that single left-click PLAY/PAUSE feature. (I usually just load up XMPlay and fill the playlist with nice modules and let them play on their own. I don't need to interfere with them and rape other people's art ) While XMPlay is in the tray I use right-click menu and even more often I restore the proggy to get to the controls. That way I also get to see the nice GUI . I don't think that right-clicking the tray icon and selecting PAUSE from the menu takes THAT much more time than single left-clicking the the tray icon would. BAAAH Porridge. Correct me with the single click / double click issue if I'm terribly off course, please. Oh and another thing! - totally off topic because I'm too lazy to start a new thread - I would be happy to be able to play .wma files with XMPlay. Has anyone done it? The standard WinAmp plug-in doesn't seem to work because it uses its own output. Thanks in advance and keep it up folks!

It would of course be best if the used could decide whether or not to use a single click action. I'm not sure how to pack all those options into the wee little preferences panel XMPlay uses at the moment ...

I second that. Too complicated with single and double clicking... But I still want my bug to be fixed!! (And that is, the double-click still sends WM_LMOUSEUP when XMPlay gets restored from the tray.) ~Olego~
