Radio-stream from m3u in m3u?
« on: 7 Apr '18 - 14:38 »
Following situation; I have a simple web server that lets me step through the audio directories, generating and serving play lists on the fly from tracks or complete directories. The browser down loads the m3u file and starts XMPlay to play it. So far this works fine except in one situation.

On the server are also play lists containing urls to radio streams,

For example the BBC1 playlist:

Code: [Select]
#EXTM3U

#EXTINF:-1,BBC Radio 1
http://www.listenlive.eu/bbcradio1.m3u

the server wraps this in an other playlist and serves it. Its content then looks like:

Code: [Select]
#EXTM3U

http://192.168.1.4:8081/asrv/RADIO/BBC/BBC_Radio_1.m3u

server log:
Code: [Select]
192.168.1.4 - - [07/Apr/2018:15:10:10] "GET /m3u/RADIO/BBC/BBC_Radio_1.m3u HTTP/1.1" 200 63 "http://192.168.1.4:8081/RADIO/BBC" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:59.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/59.0"

192.168.1.4 - - [07/Apr/2018:15:10:14] "GET /asrv/RADIO/BBC/BBC_Radio_1.m3u HTTP/1.1" 200 75 "" "XMPlay/3.8.3.4"

XMPlay refuses to play the radio stream, where the 'competitors' do without a problem.

How many nested playlists are there in this m3u? XMPlay limits the nesting depth.

By the way, does the BBC stream play properly if you manually open it with XMPlay?

The BBC streams fine when manually opened or from the base playlist.

There is one level of nesting, the original one and the auto generated wrapper.

Here's an update that allows the nested playlist level limit to changed:

   www.un4seen.com/stuff/xmplay.exe

Add a "ListLevel=n" line to your XMPLAY.INI file to set the limit you want (default is 1).
