ScreenSaver Prevent - Is it a option ?
« on: 16 Jun '19 - 15:17 »
Hi,

Just started using ScreenSaver 1min from  preying eyes, and
now enjoin music via xmplay and i notice that SSaver ignores it.

I couldn't find option to "prevent SSaver" and now asking for
the feature.

Thanks.

In my app on bass i use

Code: [Select]
    SetThreadExecutionState( ES_CONTINUOUS | ES_DISPLAY_REQUIRED); }
to prevent SSaver when playing media.

XMPlay currently only disables the screensaver when the vis window is fullscreen. That could perhaps be extended to apply whenever the vis window is open, even if it isn't fullscreen.

I don't use 'vis' - like to see tracks, and
[ my usage] when looking at some code
enjoying music SSaver hits me.

When i listening some podcasts in
'bass' based app SSaver prevention
enabled only when media is playing.

It's ok.
Thanks.

Also notice that when Win10_1703_x64
powers off my monitors [ in 3min] sound from
xmplay breaks for noticeable 250ms - is it normal ?
And is it happens in win10_1903 ?

Does increasing the buffer length in XMPlay's Output options or using a different output system (eg. DirectSound or WASAPI) make any difference to that? Also, is other software affected too, or only XMPlay?

Sound breaks for 250-400ms when
OS powers On/Off monitors:

 - os: Win10x64_1703
 - device: usb-dac
 - buffer: 1s, 5s
 - output: wasapi, MS Sound Mapper, [ direct] Usb-Dac

No spikes on CPU, HDD, .. while power On/Off monitors, so
seems strange to me why sound should break.
It's not an issue, but it's not normal and i'm just
wondering why it happens, and how to fix it.

Also tested:

 - mpc-be
 - DirectSound

So it looks like not a xmplay issue.
