Just upgraded to Xmplay 4, makes me happy to see it improving every day.
New skin is nice, but I'll stay on Innocuos - after I had some tweaks implemented I won't ba able to stop using it!

Now, I noticed the "Tools" menu entry: since it's customizable it's useful... but there's a little improvement that I'd like to ask for an improvement.
I have some softwares that installs itself in AppData; Xmplay, when saving the command, "unpacks" it, which means that if I move around Xmplay that command won't work anymore.
I'd like to ask if it would be possible to keep it like "%appdata%/localNow/.../bin.exe", basically what I type before it gets "converted.

That sounds strange. XMPlay shouldn't change the tool command-line that you enter, but it also doesn't currently support special variables like "%AppData%" in that. So I guess what you want is that "%AppData%" is supported?

About "Tools" by the way

If add MediaInfo CLI and set "Console: keep open", XMPlay starts crashing randomly, not always, when stopping playing, when changing track, when adding track from the library -
in ntdll.dll with the most generic 0xc0000005.
That's absolutely not a problem at all, because cmd /K MediaInfo works fine, and maybe not related to the player but to my system itself, but just want to let you know.

Can you provide dump file(s) from that to have a look at? If you open the "%LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps" folder in File Explorer, you will hopefully find some there. You can upload here:

I'd like something like: "%AppData%\Local\ocenaudio\ocenaudio.exe" /f"

Here's an update that extends the "%USERPROFILE%" support (in playlists) to tool and encoder command-lines:

Taking your example, %USERPROFILE% would be "C:\Users\secretusername", so you could use "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\ocenaudio\ocenaudio.exe".

It looks to me like it should still work, but there are a few new skinconfig options that would need scaling: pos_infotrack, pos_onoff, pos_onoffinfo. Also, these options don't need to be scaled: pos_leftdown, pos_rightdown.

Lovely player, lovely developer, lovely, helpful community, lovely plugins, skins and everything.

I love how quick and responsive, in fact lightning fast, this player is. Also, MODs and SIDs always sounded the best in XMPlay, no contest.

Been meaning to mention, could there be an option to show the current track title in the active window's title? I don't know if that's possible to do.

Something like how you can use the MSN now playing plugin for a similar purpose.

I use XMPlay all the time, listening to new and old tunes, and I have to keep switching to it to see what's playing.

So for example in the top of the current window it would look something like this:

Total Commander 11.0 --- 4mat's madness

I know I can scroll the song title in the taskbar, which is lovely, but I'd prefer to have it in the window title also, if possible.

While that's probably technically possible, I think such a thing would generally be frowned upon and perhaps even break things - have you seen any other apps do similar? If you would like to always have the current track title on screen, perhaps you could keep XMPlay "on top" (set in the "Interface" options) and docked to the top or bottom of the screen? The default skin doesn't have an especially small "mini mode" but there are some skins that basically only show the title. For example, here are a few:

Regarding your question if I've seen a similar function in other apps, ages ago, there was a Winamp 2 plugin that could do this (in/with Winamp), called 'bluecave winamp slider'. It had tons of other useful functions as well. I remember that sadly this plugin didn't work with XMPlay, I tried it back in the day, something like 20 years ago.

I've just tried what you suggested, the "Current track - Tray title bubble", but for some reason it doesn't do anything for me. I tried quite a few different hotkeys, plus ticked 'global'. I have several other hotkeys set up that work beautifully. So it shouldn't be a problem.

In options-interface, I have 'show info bubbles' ticked and 'show in' dropdown is set to tray. Also, in options-titles, I have 'tray title bubbles' ticked. Not sure why the assigned hotkey is not doing anything for me. I'm on Win7 Ultimate if that means anything.

Did you also minimize XMPlay? If not, please try that, as tray title bubbles are only shown when minimized. A track also needs to be playing at the time.

Yes the player was minimised and a track was playing during my scientific experiments.

I'm baffled as to what's going on with this tray bubble function. Bubbles work in/from other apps no problem, so it's not like it's diabled system wide somehow.

Registered specifically to submit this bug. See attached - since 4.0 my favorite skin ("HeavyDuty" by Tero Niemi, 2007) has been bugging out sometimes where the side panel when kept closed hides the main area.

I haven't been able to reproduce that so far. Are there any particular steps to make it happen? Please also confirm what Windows version you're using.

Unfortunately, this no longer works. Every radio station, no matter how briefly it was played, immediately receives a new entry in the "last play" column. This still worked until version 3.8.5. Also "now" only appeared after x seconds in version 3.8.5.

I've tried all the above, sadly 4.0.0.6 still doesn't do it for me. Not even after renaming the .ini and resetting the config. Also no difference when the tracks change.
