Playlist elements are not reacting on mouse clicks

I have an old Windows 7 ESU installation and recently run into described problem, even with latest version of Xmplay. No buttons work, can't do right mouse button click for context menu.
However my os installation is heavily tweaked in terms of disabled services and other hacks. it looks like that i screwed up something.

Any suggestions from people who knows how software works under the hood? Any help is kindly appreciated.

That sounds very strange. A few questions to hopefully provide some clues... Is it only playlist elements that are affected, or every button/control? Do they at least light-up when hovering over them? Does right-clicking outside a button/control bring up the Options/Skin/etc menu? And are keyboard shortcuts working?

Indeed it is quite strange to say the least.

On the following windows Info/Message/Samples/Visual mouse click down work at all, buttons is not pressed, contex menu is not appearing.However i can switch between windows via F1-F4 keyboard buttons. Buttons light up, but they can't be pressed.

The most important window for me is a playlist.
Upon mouse hovering tracks are highlited, but they can't be started with a mouse click. Right scrollbar to scroll playlist pages can't be used, however i can drag and move window across my desktop.

Right click at General/Message/Sample shows Copy to clipboard, Track Info and Plugin file info. No context menu at Playlist.

Main window fully functional. i can press playback control buttons and request right mouse button context menu.

Shortcuts are working.

So to confirm... mouse clicks (left or right) aren't working in the info window, but they are working in the main window, and hovering/highlighting is working everywhere? Are mouse clicks working in the main window playlist? Does mousewheel scrolling work in the info window and elsewhere?

Please also see if you have the same problem with XMPlay 3.8.5, which you can get from here:

>mouse clicks (left or right) aren't working in the info window, but they are working in the main window, and hovering/highlighting is working everywhere?
Correct.

>Are mouse clicks working in the main window playlist?
No. Context right mouse click menu can't be executed.
Double left click on playlist item doesn't start track.

The only thing that works is right mouse click on the top of playlist window showing "Hide when inactive" option. Weird.

>Does mousewheel scrolling work in the info window and elsewhere?
Mousewheel works in playlist. Rigth side scrollbar is not clickable or draggable.

EQ panel: clicks are not working also.

Donwngrade won't helped. Removing xmplay.ini don't do a thing also.
It feels like program did't get access to system dlls.
No firewall restrictions, no antiviruses at all.

Ian, very huge thank you for your time and for looking into this!

Correct.

Are the help bubbles/tooltips also shown when hovering? Check they're enabled in the "Interface" options.

No. Context right mouse click menu can't be executed.

Just to be clear, when I say "main window playlist", I mean the playlist that's built into the main XMPlay window rather than the extended playlist in the info window. For example, the bottom part in the XMPlay 4 default skin, or the right panel in the XMPlay 3 default skin.

Btw, what skin are you currently using? If not the default, please try that and see if the results are any different.

If that isn't working then I would guess the playlist panel isn't either. So it's only the non-DSP/playlist parts of the main window where clicks are working properly? Please check the "Show queue" and "Playlist / DSP options" switches in the default skin.

OK, this is the best i can describe everything.
See the picture.

* tried delete following directory: C:\Users\User-Profile-Name\AppData\Roaming\XMPlay
* tried to remove xmplay.ini
* tried to cleaned registry From xmplay mentiones.
* tried older builds
* installed in different folders

Nothing helps at all, it just don't want to work.

Thanks for the clarification. It sounds like mouse button messages aren't being received outside of the main panel for some reason. I'll need to send you a debug version to get more info on that.
