I definitely haven't been sitting on these for a year... Trust me. :-X I hope everyone is having a nice time with the latest XMPlay release, I never thought I'd be here when I first downloaded XMPlay 1.0 over 25 years ago!

New Skin Bad Ideas v1.0 [Just 1 theme.]
This skin uses all sorts of cool tricks to achieve a unique rounded visual display and how to have buttons on top of the visual display without a jagged appearance. I was originally trying to do this with Obscure but I couldn't work it out, this is why the mini-mode looks a lot like that one.

With a big focus on the visuals I recommend using something like G-Force for maximum eye candy.

New Skin Curio v1.0 [6 themes are included.]
Curio is an iOS inspired player mixed with elements of my other skins, I love the way this turned out and I hope others enjoy using it as much as I do.

New Skin Obscure v1.0 [2 themes are included.]
Obscure came from an attempt to finish a very old skin of mine called Clarity, in the end it doesn't particularly share a lot of similarities with the source but it worked out alright. It was mainly used as an experiment of how I can use non-standard shapes for the visual displays.

New Skin Revel v1.0 [6 themes are included.]
This skin builds on the "bug" used by lucent and takes it to it's natural conclusion of an almost entirely transparent skin with only the key elements visible. This is more a proof of concept than anything to showcase some of the things that are possible, I see many skins similar to this in other players so perhaps this will inspire more of this style in future.

The concept of this skin is for it to stay in the taskbar in most cases and always be visible, it attempts to achieve this using a general plugin xmp-alwaysontop that is include to always try and keep XMPlay an the front.

New Skin Lucent v1.0 [3 themes are included.]
This skin was based entirely on a bug which I stumbled onto by accident. Along with auto-minimode, this makes a very useful out of the way skin with all the usual bells and whistles. I think it worked really well and would benefit from more colour themes if anyone wanted to expand on the concept.

New Skin Pix0 v1.0 [12 themes are included.]
I don't quite remember where this idea came from, I think it was from a pixelated transition and I liked the look of it. It kind of reminds me of my old Byte skin in some ways as well as trying to incorporate all the usual features. I really like how the currently playing track is highlighted in the playlist in this skin, a method I hope to use again in future.

New Skin Foxed v1.0 [6 themes are included.]
An odd source of inspiration perhaps but this one is from a Firefox tab with colour variations from it as well as YouTube and one just looked neat. It was an interesting process, although L1 may have fonts a bit small for most use these days I think it worked out pretty nice overall.

Thanks for some new skins, fella! We can also count on Ian Luck himself.
When I play "Wrecklamantion", a 64-channel XM module, the full-screen MOD pattern display doesn't actually show ALL 64 channels, it's cropped even when windowed. My monitor is 1920x1080@60Hz (16:9). I checked it by myself with Escape and Obscure.

Thanks for these new skins, KD!

I've been testing Obscure and it looks nice and clean. I modified the skin's mini mode to be slightly less large by setting the width to 445px.

Just also wanted to report a small bug with Obscure. There appears to be a bit of flickering near the left-hand side of the position slider. Let me know if you are able to see the flickering. I'm testing with the latest stuff version.

I see this is actually related to a little skinning tweak that was made in one of the XMPlay 4.0 updates. You may have in the past noticed that when hovering/using a slider with an overhanging "thumb" (ie. it sticks out), there were lone pixels lit near the corners of the slider. Those corner pixels are used to define the slider's dimensions in the skin mask. The tweak is that XMPlay recognises when they're only intended to define the dimensions and they're no longer lit. In this skin's case, the issue is that it's defining the main window vis display dimensions in the same way, and the tweak is incorrectly applying to that too. Here's an update that won't do so:

Please let me know if you still see any problems.

You're always on top of things, Ian! Thanks as always! The latest stuff update indeed fixes the flickering issue I was seeing with Obscure's position slider.
