play/stop controls

I've been using XMPlay for years and recently upgraded from 3.8 to 4.1. Since then, the taskbar thumbnail buttons (play/stop controls that appear when hovering over the taskbar icon) are no longer showing — only the plain thumbnail preview appears, with no buttons.

What makes this stranger is that after upgrading, the buttons also stopped working in my old 3.8 installation, where they had always worked fine before.

System details:
- Windows 11 Pro, Build 26200
- XMPlay 4.1, portable install (C:\xmplay_new\xmplay_music.exe)
- XMPlay 3.8 also installed side by side (C:\xmplay38\xmplay.exe)
- TaskbarButtons=1 is set in xmplay.ini for both versions

Things I've already tried without success:
- Disabling "Always on top" (OnTop=0) in both versions
- Ensuring the app shows in taskbar (InTray=0)
- Creating a proper pinned shortcut pointing to the correct exe
- Restarting Explorer
- Enabling Windows thumbnail previews (DisablePreviewDesktop=0)

Any idea what might be causing this? Happy to provide logs or test anything.

That's strange, those buttons are still working here in Windows 11 Pro Build 26200. Are the buttons still working for you in other software, eg. Media Player? There aren't any config options for them, but please try deleting/renaming your XMPLAY.INI file anyway for a fresh config, and see if that helps. Also try removing any plugins (ie. put XMPLAY.EXE in a folder by itself), in case they're somehow interfering.

Good to hear it's working now. In case anyone else has the same issue, was it fixed by resetting your config (deleting XMPLAY.INI) or by updating to the latest XMPlay build, or something else?

It was fixed by updating to the latest build (4.1.0.9) and placing it in a fresh folder, which also gave it a clean config. Not sure which of the two actually did the trick, but together they solved it.Thanks again!
