Buffer size and ammount of buffers

Does anyone knows how to modify the ammount of buffers? So not the buffersize, but the ammount of it.

Thanks!

All (non-decoding) channels have a single circular buffer, to hold the sample data ready for output. It's not possible to change that (nor is there any need to :)), instead you adjust the buffer length.

A CPU peak of 20% is rising every 3 seconds or so, and I want to get rid of that. People told me that i have to make more buffers. Winamp stays totally flat at 2%. I am talking about the overall CPU usage. Regards Sheep

I read the thing about Bass using less CPU then winamp and that the Taskmanager of NT is bad. But since I am listening offen to music while working on different projects where i use the Taskmanager to see performance of my apps (and so do other people), I would rather have a flat line (and use more cpu), so I can check my performance better of my project, than a jumping cpu and have less usage. gives a very unclean feeling. I know it's not right, but I have to close my player each time i want to check my taskmaneger for a task, and the player is bouncing around. Could you put that flaf of NOSYNC back? Or another way? I don't care about more cpu usage as long as the line is flat in win2k taskmanager.

Just a question :)
